$1,500 dollar wax??!?!?1

SuperBee364- OK, thanks for explaining :xyxthumbs

I'll be interested to hear how things go this winter (oh sheesh, it keeps getting closer).

On the touchless drying, FWIW I *really* like using the AirWand as opposed to just a regular leaf blower.

Heh heh, "slow detailer" :chuckle:

Yup, that's why you don't wait until it totally dries before you wipe it off. The whole process is very easy.

yea thats what i was thinking, but you'de have to wipe your hands off (wasting very expensive wax) after every panel (or two, three so on). Or would you just keep running the wax into the paint until it is off your hands? It might just me being an idiot, i must not be getting something here.

logically you will wash your hands if you want to do something else, and yes

you will be wasting a little wax here and there, I wasted chunks out of

my concorso this Friday when I was Appling it but who cares? You are applying

the damn thing that’s all that matters.

In the vintage case which is the highest I would go as far as spending cash on an

LSP, you get refills for life "I don't mind spending a $100 every now and then to get

a full tub refilled for free" :)

Super,

I have a husky 1800 pressure washer, I will also place an order

for the same psi pressure washer which will be a karcher 1800 one with a foam

canon, I hope I can achieve the same process as yours with an LSP which will

be Vintage buying it very soon as I changed my mind about swissvax mystery

for one reason the refill policy.

did you notice any swirls after the end of the season "if you inspect your car that is"?

Accumulator, I just Googled the AirWand. Wow, that looks like just the ticket for air drying. Looks to be much better than a leaf blower. Thanks for the heads-up on that one.

Harry Houdini, I do have a few dealer instilled swirls that I got from a dealer wash job a couple months ago. I still haven't taken the time to polish them out, so it's a bit tough to say for absolute certain that the rinseless washes have been completely mar-free. I'm going to try and find the time to do one last polishing on the car before winter. More out of curiosity to see how it looks come spring after a full winter of rinseless washes.

It sure will be an interesting find, but I won't wait for it! :getdown

going to place an order as I am dieing to try the foam canon with the new karcher! :)

on another note, when I decide to place an order for the vintage, what else do you

recommend I get with it from their line of products?

You bought the 1800 dollar wax? CONGRATS!!! thats like buying a new car(...sorta). Well it looks like zymol made some money on both of us in the past week. I watched a video on Paul Dalton and i wanted to see how much better his products are then mine so i bought a zymol sponge among other things from them including titanium wax.

After you get the vintage i want to see pictures!

The only other Zymol product I have been using is the HD-Cleanse. You're supposed to use it before applying any Zymol Estate Glaze. I really hate the stuff. It's extremely hard to use. Accumulator has suggested using PCL, and CalgaryDetail has suggested Victoria's paintwork cleanser as substitutes for HD-Cleanse. I haven't tried either one yet, but it's just a matter of time; my hatred for HD-Cleanse grows everytime I just see it sitting on the shelf.

You'll also need a good carnauba based quick detailer. There's a ton of them out there. I initially used Zymol Field Glaze, and while I really did like the results, I didn't feel the price was justified. Now I'm using Smartwax ONE instead. I really love the stuff. The price is better than Field Glaze, although they recently bumped it up by ten bucks per gallon.

Now for the bad news ;) The build quality is *terrible*, expect to spend some time smoothing rough/sharp plastic seams and edges. The MF that covers the air outlet and supposedly protects the paint is come nasty stuff that's poorly applied. This is *NOT* a perfect product but it barely qualifies as "swell" anyhow just because it works so much better than any other forced-air approach I've tried.

Only works well on healthy, slick LSPs, but that shouldn't be a problem for *you* :)

Heh heh [insert Accumulator's usual rant about products that aren't user-friendly here ;) ]

I'd be *VERY* interested to hear how Griot's SpeedShine works for this. It's my overall favorite carnauba-based QD, but I dunno if it'd mute the Zymol effect or not :nixweiss

I'm going to make life tougher for you; give Swissvax Cleaner Fluid a try.

Now this I want to get some opinions on. I've been using Clearkote Quikshine forever, but I need a good carnauba based qd for my swissvax apps, but don't want it to mute the look of those waxes. Swissvax doesn't make a field glaze product afaik.

I just used Victoria Lite Cleanse before Vintage. Easy to use. And Wow to the finish!!!

yeah been using cleaner fluid by PC latley, what a great product.

any down side to bonding with vintage from CF?

if CF works then I don't see a reason why Ez creme glaze wouldn't work?

I've found Sonus' Carnauba Spritz to have been very cooperative with my zymol finishes. It is very mild, and it leave a nice hint of a gloss w/o competing or weighing down my fresh finish. To that end, I haven't found success yet with Zymol's field glaze, but on the other hand Zymol's detail is also a very good qd. It is heavier than Sonus, so I'd use that on an older zymol accumulation or on other carnauba finishes.

Hmmm ok, good info thanks. I'd like to be able to extend my customers applications of mystery and concorso without killing the look. I'll give the sonus spritz a shot.

what didnt u like about field glaze?

Field Glaze seemed somewhat greasy on my build-up when I used it. Initially I liked it, but further down the line I saw that it had a bit too much unsettled "gloss"-I called it grease. Other qds I've used since field glaze were easier to settle and for one reason or another seemed sharper in appearance.

That's not to say that it isn't any good (Zymol also didn't give you a lot of it, and it was relatively expensive....listen to me complaining), but that I didn't find it better than other qds I've used after trying it.
