$1,500 dollar wax??!?!?1

Field Glaze seemed somewhat greasy on my build-up when I used it. Initially I liked it, but further down the line I saw that it had a bit too much unsettled "gloss"-I called it grease. Other qds I've used since field glaze were easier to settle and for one reason or another seemed sharper in appearance.

That's not to say that it isn't any good (Zymol also didn't give you a lot of it, and it was relatively expensive....listen to me complaining), but that I didn't find it better than other qds I've used after trying it.

thanx I have used FG once and it seemed to give a very bright shine which I was surprised at. The next time I have a wax on my DD I will try it again and see if I see the "grease"

Now this [use of Griot's SpeedShine is something that] I want to get some opinions on. I've been using Clearkote Quikshine forever...

While QuikShine is something that works OK over anything, I somehow find that I don't reach for it :nixweiss I really do like the SpeedShine, but it *is* a pretty "heavy QD".

Somebody's gotta have both an EG and the SpeedShine..or it like saying that somebody who smokes Cohibas has gotta have some White Owls lying around?

Wow.. great information on the carnauba QD's in this thread, big thanks, everyone. While I have been very happy with ONE as my "slow" detailer with Vintage, it does seem to negatively affect Vintage's durability. Looks like you guys are gonna be causing me to pry the wallet open again for some carnauba QD's.

I *really* did like Field Glaze. I never saw the greasy problem with it, but then again my car is bright yellow. While it does show the difference between warm, glow-y carnaubas, and the plastic-y shine of sealants very well, it is also very forgiving when it comes to showing problems like the "greasy" look described earlier in the thread by Field Glaze.

Does anyone have any experience with CG's carnauba based QD? The name of it slips my mind right now, but IIRC, it was very cheap to buy by the gallon. I go through so much QD that I'd really like to find a good price/performance ratio on the stuff.

Now this I want to get some opinions on. I've been using Clearkote Quikshine forever, but I need a good carnauba based qd for my swissvax apps, but don't want it to mute the look of those waxes. Swissvax doesn't make a field glaze product afaik.

I've found Sonus' Carnauba Spritz to have been very cooperative with my zymol finishes. It is very mild, and it leave a nice hint of a gloss w/o competing or weighing down my fresh finish. To that end, I haven't found success yet with Zymol's field glaze, but on the other hand Zymol's detail is also a very good qd. It is heavier than Sonus, so I'd use that on an older zymol accumulation or on other carnauba finishes.[/QUOTE]

Welcome to SWISSVAX - Switzerland's exclusive car care products

there is an order forum there you can order what ever items you want manually,

I bought there Quick Finish QD and swissvax applicators from them directly.

lbls

They do have a QD its called Quick Finish.

got 2 full bottles of it, but it has a load of carnauba that it always hazes on me

all the time.

pinncle spray wax might be a good product for zymol and swissvax, going to give it

a try on my concorso soon.

Field Glaze always did that to me, too. After doing the whole vehicle with FG, I'd do one final wipedown with a fresh MF. Not only did it get rid of the haze, but it really seemed to put a good freshening on the Vintage glow.

Quik Finish huh? Ok I may have to try that one. SuperBee was kind of making me think twice about fg, but not for anything, I did use fg for a good while. It was just that Sonus really performed better with my finish.

Bear in mind, that in hindsight you have to be careful with all qd's and apply them lightly. And (I even found this out this year) they should be buffed off (lightly of course....this is still a non-abrasive finishing technique) with care.

I'll have to try both Quik Finish, and give the benefit of the doubt to FG and give it another shot. Let it not be that I shuld trash one of Zymol's products!
