Black Cars - The experienced users for deep wet look!

I've always done all my polishing my hand.

2-3 times per year I use 3M Swirl Mark Remover, then Zaino Z2 (times 2).

I maintain with Z6 or Meg's NTX Detailer....

Can someone recommend me. Ok I guess im starting from scratch again when I get a PC.

Wash with dawn

Clay bar car

Wash with a car shampoo product now

Prep paint polish - zaino z-pc

z5 -with ZFX

z2 -with ZFX

Now for the last step, I dont think z2 is a sealant like to protect. So what do I need for a sealant? Should I be looking else where? I dont everyone have good results with what they like and so on.

What about the detailing spray in between washes and even to bring out the gloss even more after you wax? Z6 or Z8 grand finale?

The process that you described is correct using the Zaino System. I want you to know that z-2 and Z-2Pro are both sealants. They are the LSP(last step product or process). Both use the ZFX to enhance curing time. One is an

You might consider purchasing Z-6 for use as a wipe down between steps. You also should consider Z-8 to be used as the final wipe down after the last layer of your Z-2 orZ-2pro. The Z-8 can be used after each wash to help maintain the Zaino that you have already applied. Z-8 is a qd on steroids for it not only helps maintain the car it adds protection that works hand in glove with the whole system.

So I dont need any protectant after z2 to seal it and protect, since that is already, besides z8 if my choice.

Yes, Z-2 is a sealant. Z-8 is almost necessary to keep the system working. I highly recommend that you get some Z-6 for the wipe between coats of your products and get Z-8 to put over Z-2 when your are done with the final coat. It does make a difference but it is not an absolute.

All the pics look the same to me really.

90% of the look comes from polishing the paint, the 10% is what "wax" you put down.

In this 10% catagory it will only make perhaps a 2-3% difference what exact wax you use.

The differences are pretty small, on a perfect finish.

It would be better to match your use of the car(Daily Driver, Garage Queen), needs(climate), and your expectations(Durability, dust attraction, filling) of a "wax", then we can filter out some of the choices.

Agree 100% :)

Despite different LSPs, these cars look reasonably similar because of the time spent prepping the paint:

Optimum Compound using a Meguiars polishing pad, Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze using a Meguiars polishing pad, Collinite 845 Insulator Wax by hand.

Optimum Polish and Clearkote's Vanilla Moose, both using Meguiars polishing pads, Red Machine Glaze using a Propel blue finishing pad, and Carnauba Moose Wax using a Meguiars finishing pad.

All these pictures of black cars. You guys know how to really clean a black car and give it that shine. I want mine to stick out like a sore thumb with it so clean.

No. Just as I explained earlier, it's a sealant with slight filling properties. If your prep is good, there isn't any reason for fillers. There is no cleaning or polishing associated with Z5.

Ahh... Ok. I get it now. All the best blownvert! Remember to post pics after you've detailed your baby.

Wash with dawn

No reason to wash with Dawn. None, zero, zip. Polishing will remove any old wax or sealant and if you use Z-PC, it is completely compatible with the rest of the Zaino system. Washing your car after claying is a wasted step unless you leave a lot of clay residue on the paint-which means you are not laying down enough lube to keep the clay from sticking. You will spend enough time with the polishing and sealing, don't waste time with unnecessary steps.

I see what you mean by wanting the deep wet look. Your car is shiny, but the reflections of the surroundings looks a bit flat. Could it be because of the excessive orange peel? Even from the resized pics, I can see orange peel from that distance!

So far that combo you mentioned gave me the best of everything on Black...will have to try others, but so far it beat Zaino topped with Souveran :nervous2:.
