Ultimate Duragloss Product Thread

I've also been very impressed with the 253 Tire Dressing.

As AL-53 said, it has a more natural look, not super shiny/oily. Just dark black - I dig that.

It also has much better durability than most any other OTC tire product in my experience - 2 to 3 weeks depending on driving conditions/weather.

Sounds like the tyre dressing could well be worth a try as well then...

AL-53, the vinyl and leather product you talked about - do you also use this on exterior unpainted plastics?

Gareth :)

yes..I use it on my black texture grill..mirrors..bed rail covers...mudflaps...dash..door trim..rubber...anything plastic...unpainted...

well worth the try

Does it ever run onto the paint if it gets rained on? I hate it when exterior plastic dressings do this....

How do you rate it against other exterior dressings that you may have tried - i.e. PB's trim restorer?

Gareth :)

Oops, sorry.

I meant - the lineup on the website does not look like anything revolutionary or sensational

Of course I have not tried them so cannot judge.

AL-53, thanks for the reply. I thought that we could use AIO as a base too. My pre-VOC bach is about done, so I guess I might try the Prime.

I may be in the minority, but their other tire dressings that give the wet look (my preference) are one of the best I have tried. It does not sling and lasts me about over two weeks (2 washes and a rainfall). After that it is still there (tire is dark matted) but definitely not shiny.

I even use their all wheel cleaner exclusively now for safely cleaning my rims (great stuff that works).

Ashsarna - which tire dressing is that?

Gareth :)

They make a few that are super wet looking..one in a spray can and one in a spray bottle...

they are glossy..but they stick to the tire..no sling...

if shine is what you want ...try them..they shine..lol

Gaz7, AL is right. The spray can is 256, I was actually told to try this by one of the guys at DG. The spray bottle is 281. Great long lasting and wet.

has anyone used RMG before 601 and then 105?

I think the 601 may effect the RMG..not really sure...but I just tried Danase Speed glaze with acrylic just after a polish and did 105 over it..I have to say it really looks nice..really brought the wetness and gloss to a nice look..almost like you have a nice caranuba on it...

We are going to see how it works out...we will wash it weekly to see if it diminishes...

the speed glaze filled in some slight marring and gave it a nice smooth deep wet looking finish and the 105 complimented it by bringing it out even more...

see how it goes...

Now you got me really interested. I recently got CG EZ Glaze (similar to Danase in that they both work well with sealants). Couple of questions:

1) How did you apply it (machine, hand)? If machine, a quick summary of your procedure would be appreciated.

2) How does the look compare to 601/105 combo? Are you saying the glaze combo is more deep/ carnauba looking?

Keep us updated, as I would be interested in the durability comared to 601. Thanks.

We did the truck by hand with the glaze with a foam applicator..as I did not have my 4"pads for putting the glaze on..I love 4" pads for stuff like this..they prime easy and use less product...and it went on well and seems to melt into the paint also...

We buffed the glaze off and did 105 over it...and let it sit 30-45 minutes..buffed off...it had a nice deeper wet look...glossy but sorta warm look ..like if you have SOV or a good caranuba on..

Now..I did the hood of my truck with the 4" pad & glaze..it sorta disapeared into the paint..used a finish pad and speed 3 to work it in...really went a long way....let it haze and then buffed off...then applied 105 by hand..and waited 35-40 minutes +or- ..till it swiped off easy..buffed off...it had the same look as first truck..but with a little more umpf to it...really deep and wet as on other truck..but my truck is red so it really looked wild on it a warmer look...I will give it 4 weeks to see if it holds up..I believe it will....

the EZ creme glaze makes paint look very nice....I was a little skeptical on trying this until I read reports on some that had tried it with some sealants including Zaino and had good results..

It is just a little experiment to see what results will be.....beaded nice in 2 days of rain...still feels as slick as without the glaze...just has a different glow to it...I like the look...
