Ultimate Duragloss Product Thread

Wow use the 601 before the 105 ? A lot of people complain about adding ZFX to Z5pro or Z2pro.

Is it just me or is it easier to add ZFX to Zaino. Besides the fact Duragloss products are pretty good but in IMO not on par with Zaino and sum of the other top sealants again JMO.

yes, it's definitely more time consuming to have to apply the 601 to the entire vehicle...THEN 105 again...when compared to simply mixing a few drops of ZFX w/ Z5 or Z2. the benefit is strictly financial at that point (if you feel that Z and DG are equal in quality and durability). you can buy the 601/105 combo for around $12-$14 i think? Z will be 3x that much or more. :)

Well, DG products are definitely inexpensive and high quality. 601 is a cleaner and bonding agent in one. Polish/ 601/105/AW. Great combo. ZFX is a hardner and bonding agent-but it is more expensive. It's advantage is time savings over the 601 and multicoat ability. Yes the Zaino products are more expensive BUT that is deceptive. I find that I use roughly half the amount of Z compared to many other products. Z5pro has filling ability. If you factor in the additional Z durability then IMO as good as DG is the Z line is better.

105 is a super product. I put it on my car without 601 and the gloss was outstanding. Its raining now and you should see the beads. To me after I finished, the finish looked like Mothers FX, the next day it looked like Poorboys EX wet and deep. As far as Aquawax is concerned , it the best spray wax out there. You can use AW over anyother wax or sealant and it works great.

It's a bit confusing but the products that Duragloss lists as "polishes" (105 Total Performance Polish, 111 Clear Coat Polish) are not actually polishes as the term is understood on Autopia at all, they are actually sealants for use as an LSP.

Duragloss, does have two polishes: 1) 671 SMR Swirl Mark Remover (a hand polish designed to remove light swirls); and 2) 652 PC-2 Polish (a hand polish designed to remove moderate water spots, oxidation and light scratches). These are the DG products you would use to complete Step 2 outlined in the post above.

I have the two Duragloss polishes sitting on my shelf waiting to use them by hand on my wife's 5 yr. old Mada MPV when I get a chance. I will report back with how they work after I've had a chance to use them.

Milestones - that's interesting to know about the 105 and 111. If they're both sealants, what advantage does one have over the other?

As for the polishes, i'd be really interested to know how you get on with them. I take it that 671 is a little stronger than 652?

Gareth :)

Yeah - 105 is the "new and improved" version of 111. 105 is basically Duragloss's "top of the line" sealant. There's no reason to use 111 now that Duragloss has released 105.

Okay, that's good to know too. I have a sample to try of 111, although i may not bother, and will try to get a 105 instead.

Does anyone have any comments about the rest of the range? Their website contains lots of products, but no one seems to mention them all that much?

Check the search for Duragloss or any of their specific products for a bunch of info. It has been one of the top lines discussed here this summer. Their AquaWax is a polymer base spray that can be used as you dry your car after a rinse (although most prefer to use it as a QD when the vehicle is dry and clean). It is really a topper of sorts and adds luster and protection to your lsp. Their true QD is called Fast Clean and Shine. I used it just a little while ago in fact. It has pretty good cleaning abilities (not quite up to Poorboys SW but close). It does leave a good shine however. Their rain repel glass cleaner is okay. It cleans glass and leaves a RainX-like film that beads water. Not bad but it can haze if not rubbed in well. Like I said, there is a bunch of threads on their products here and at other detail forums as well.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've looked through the search and have already tried Aquawax - it seems to be very popular on here and i can see why - it left a great finish when i used it. Their site seems to have quite a few products that aren't discussed though? Water spot remover, tire shine, things like that?

This past weekend, I detailed my 92 Miata that was completely repainted back in early July. My car resides outside 24/7. I washed with DG soap, then clayed. I then used DG Swirl Mark Remover (by hand) and followed with DG Polish Bonding agent (simple to use) and then DG #105 x2 (each coat 12 hours apart). My red car is stunning and I am very pleased with the DG products.

I have been using DG products for close to a year now...as said in other posts..I won about 98% of the DG line on ebay last Nov...except 105 and FC&S....which I bought...

I had Klasse twins on my truck over the winter topped with collinite...held up great

On the Honda I had DG #111 on it as 105 was not out then...and used Aquawax when I could after a wash in the winter...

I have to say DG held up as good as the Klasse Twins for the winter...from Nov till May it held up great...AW 4 times during this time period...

This year they will both wear 105x3 and get AW when I can wash during winter months...

I have tried alot of thier products and they work as described or better...

Although I have not tried any of the DG products yet, none seem to be anything revolutionary or up to the level that jeffs and certain other are at the moment.

Not to start any argument..but how can you make a statement like that for any product if you have never tried it...or did a comparison....not knocking Jeff's as it is a good product..

AL-53 - are you pleased with the products you have used? I have the Klasse twins, and would be interested in using the DG ones intead. You say your finish held up as well during the winter, did it look as good too?

Yes..I am pleased with the product...and it does hold up like Klasse over the winter..

I did the 111 sealant x 2 for the winter and used Aquawax as a booster when I could..and yes it did maintain its nice look over the winter..it maintained about 90% of its original look...slickness does fall off..but happens with all products in time..but the Aquawax brings it back...

The 105 was not available last winter or it would have been my choice...I have 105 on my truck now..and has been on 2 months now...thru alot of rain also..and it still maintains it good looks and beads as good as day 1..I used AW once about a week after I did the truck and thats it...and fast clean and shine 2 times in 1 week to clean truck at a construction site i was parked at...

My thoughts are 105 x 2-3 times will last into spring no problem when put on in fall time...and AW used when can be used after a wash during winter

Al

I use the Klasse twins also, and like the fact that they don't stain plastic...How does the Duragloss lineup do in this regard? I don't like to tape things off, so the tradeoff using Klasse seems to work well for me.

Hopefully Napa carries the full line here 'cause I'd like to give it a try. Thanks for the writeup!

Using AW every week does not show how durable #105 is . AW by itself will last up to 1 month . If you use AW once a month over 105 I can see the shine and protection lasting one year. The question is how long will 105 last by itself.
