Yeah, gotta scratch the back of those who scratch yours. Thanks again bro.rydawg said:I know how that feels! I am doing a freebie tomorrow for a friend that has helped me out a lot! I will make his car stunning for all the things he has done to help me out in the past.
Give it your best shot and I wish you the best of luck with the car and your family!!!!!!!!
LMAO. To this guys defense, the car was purchased used and I don't know what the condition of the paint was at the time. But he has admitted to using those car wash places that run the vehicle through the automated brush wash then hand dry the vehicle so I can see how this could happen.klumzypinoy said:Even my dad's method of car washing never made our vehicles that bad :shocked
That is indeed the goalsimracer said:Kudos to you! Glad to hear he was able to help you out and get back what cannot be replaced. I know in turn you'll do a great job and can't wait to see the afters. It'll be impressive for sure.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. Hopefully I can bring the gloss and give it a respectable finish.David703 said:The car looks dark grey instead of black. wow!
No need in even trying the PC huh? I think I'm gonna give it a pass or two on a portion of a panel just for reference purposes though. But i'm prepared to bring out the rotary and plan on having to use it for at least the first two steps. I've never finished with it, I may give that a shot as well, depends on how it goes.velobard said:'Nuff said. Some things are worth more than any amount of money.
You obviously have your work cut out for you. Best of luck.
You might as well just start with the rotary, this paint will laugh at a PC.
Super Intensive Polish? I'm gonna have to look into that but I doubt I can come up with it by Saturday morning. Thanks for the suggestion and heads up though.klnyc said:Thats one hella swilrs it got there.
How's the interior by the way? If you can get your hands on the new Menzerna SIP, you be golden. I think Rydawg using that now. Good luck and keep us updated.

The CCC is what they went to from 2005 and up, correct? IIRC, his is a 2002. But even still, given the heaviness of the swirls i'm definitely gonna attack it with the rotary.bigfoot said:If it's a CeramiClear Coat, there's no way that the PC will do the job in a reasonable time. That's definetly a rotary job.:soscared:
rkf76 said:Hi Temp Heavy cut
Menzerna IP
ClearKote RMG
ClearKote CMW
Jeffs Werkstatt Carnauba Jett
HTHC via rotary
then IP/RMG combo via rotary
CMW via PC
JWCJ by hand
I hope that takes care of it.
Great karma. :xyxthumbsrkf76 said:I'm not getting paid what I would normally charge for a job like this, but this guy came through for me in a time of need and helped pave the way for me getting my family back so I have no problem in doing this for him. ....

I wonder if DG 105 would be a good choice to use following the IP/RMG combovelobard said:I'd say you have what it's gonna take to tackle this one. The only advice I have is that I'd use a finishing polish after the IP. Yes, I know RMG has a little bite, I'm just not personally familiar enough with it in this sort of situation to know if it will fully finish down the surface left behind by IP.
And even worse than the wash is watching the person dry it off with a terry towel that been used on everything from door jambs to wheel wells.:downklumzypinoy said:Those dreaded automated brush washes :nervous2: Can't wait to see after picturesGood luck with your detail!
Gotcha :hifive:velobard said:Oh definitely feel free to use the PC once you're to the finishing stage, but I don't see any point is starting with it.
Nope, no EC.Picus said:You'll be ok. Odds are you will need to spin the rotary up pretty fast with HC to really put a dent in the marring. I didn't see it asked; do you have EC?
Wow, top two huh? Well I sure hope I can get the same out of you with the finished product.Changeling said:RKF76, I think everyone has just about covered the fact that it is one dam major disaster, I certainly wish you the best of luck, but I have a feeling luck is not in your vocabulary when it comes to taking on a beast such as this. Listening to what you say and how you address practically everyone tells me you are a "meticulous optomist"
I've only been a member here since 2006, but the vehicle you are getting ready to do battle with is in the top "TWO" disasters I have ever seen pictures of on this web site, that is a fact!!!
One concern I have is the picture of the window, man if those are actual scratches in the glass, and they appear to be, then there is some internal damage to the winding mechanism or something! I say this because they go up and down in a precision way and really look bad, not that anything looks good!!
There is a bright side to all this, there is no way in hell you can hurt that car, LOL!
Good luck, I am really looking forward to pictures, Changeling
