I will pm the herbal information to you, and write additionals here on the site here incase someone else knows someone who is going through this type of scenario, then they can also benefit. If anyone else wants the additional info on the herbs, etc, then let me know and I'll pm that information to them too.
I'm going to give you what to look up, so it doesn't have to be spelled out here completely.
As mentioned, diet has to be #1 for you, at least for the next 3-5 years...it's believed that 80% of all illness is created by diet, and the other 20% is genetic...heaven help those of us who have the genetic predisposition and then follow a bad diet. Understand that food is just a means to fuel your body so you can live life...people nowadays believe that living life is all about food. Try to think of eating healthy as a way to enhance your life, and not as depravation of life. Taking control of things to assist you in your wellness will also boost your immune sytem when you are battling any health concerns. Studies where people feel that they are in control of the situation, fare so much better when confronted with any issue. Keep stress out of your life, and stay in control, and on the days where you feel you cannot just reach out to all support areas available...joining cancer surviver groups is a must. I'm going to give you the areas where you need to research, so that way you can feel you are in control of your life.
Research the glycemic index, and get a copy of what foods are recommended, and which ones are not. IE, watermellon is higher on the glycemic index than other kinds of fruits, so eat that less often, or at times when the other foods you are eating at the time have a lower glycemic load. Remember, the goal here is to keep blood glucose levels stable without having any spikes in glucose and insulin. You can also use diabetic diets if that is easier, and do "carbohydrate" counting, which also uses the glycemic index. Only thing with the diabetic diets is to make sure you don't consume the chemicals from the diet products (pop, gum, etc)...no aspertame, etc. Eat smaller amounts more often for the same reason.
Research food items that create an alkaline body environment...cancer thrives in an acidic environment, yet your own cells needed to fight disease do not. Health food stores, and the internet have lots of info about these types of foods, and will even list them. Reasearch antioxidants...you need lots of them. And do not eat raw fish/sushi, unless you have been doing that for years...otherwise you will not have the built up resistance to deal with the parasites in raw fish. Remember, if you have to cook most items, boil or steam if it's an item that creates acrylamide.
Research acrylamide and which foods create it when cooked at high temps. Watch out for toasted snacks, including nuts...high acrylamide production with toasted almonds....nuts need to be raw and preferably salt free. Do not use the microwave to cook anything...my friend's friend, did the Canadian research on microwaves and the chemical changes to foods. Neither of them own a microwave.
No drugs/alcohol..red wine, ok, and if necessary, organic beer. Stay away from anyone who is ill...wash hands frequently, and don't put your hands on any area of your face....no eating, no picking your nose or taking sleep out of your eyes unless you wash first...lol. I'm sure I don't need to tell you about smoking and also staying away from anyone who is. Do not use chemicals when cleaning or when doing yard work....use gloves when using any cleaning solution, including washing the dishes...see below.
Go to the health food stores and buy non-chemical deoderants...best is the salt rocks and they last forever, are very cheap, and work amazing. Use chemical free shampoo ( sodium lauryl, and DEA, free). Use natural bar soaps. You also need to have a toothpaste that is free of those same chemicals (foaming agents)...sodium Lauryl sulfate is carcinogenic, and is also on government lists of cancer promoters/toxic agents...applied topically to animals it creates tumours (read the research), yet it is in all things to create that foaming effects of, toothpastes (rapid absoption from mucous membranes in the mouth), shampoos, body washes. Research the contents in anything you eat or apply to your body, and learn to read labels...if you can't pronounce it, or have never heard of it, don't use it...lol.
Naturally (if possible), treat anything such as indigestion, constipation, headaches, etc. Do not drink prune juice or use any canned products. High heat in processing these items creates acrylamide...now you see why rates of cancer are skyrocketing? Stay away from plastic containers (or buying food in them) and plastic wraps, and especially if heating items...and you're not going to use the microwave anyways, right? Use glass or stainless steel...no aluminum of any type...not even pots or foil. Keep your bowel clean...lots of water and natural fruits to keep regular and prevent toxin build up.
Start drinking tea (green), or red (rooibos), and the best is actually white tea (expensive) but it's the best for antioxidents...antioxidants remove free radicals that damage cells in your body....free radicals damage cells which create cancers. No coffee (or as little as possible)...sorry...roasting of the beans creates...(take a guess).
Start excersizing (walking is best), and do weights...take a walk after meals unless you have cardiac issues...walking after eating helps remove glucose from the blood stream and decreases your body's need to produce more insulin to combat the glucose.
Watch tons of comedies...keep laughing to boost endorphines which boost the immune system. It was suggested earlier to help others...very true...anything which makes you feel good about yourself (and gets you out of the "sick role" of self focus), will keep your mood better, and assist your immune system too. Pet your cat or dog...boosts both yours and also the pet's endorphines.
Go to the health food store and get a good multivitamin formula...make sure it contains good doses of Vitamin C, complex B, zinc, selenium, and the big one to protect against cancer is vit D...get some sunlight daily to produce natural vit D. Research for your size/weight how much vitamin D is recommended for you, and take the maximum of that...what's on the bottle is a general everyday average for "most" people. Calcium is needed in higher does to neutralize acidity in the body...so check out your specific amounts needed additionally (google: cancer, calcium and acidity).

Do as much of these things as you can, and if nothing else, remember the acrylamide stuff I've been harping on. You will beat this!:bat
