Any Certified Detailers?

All About The Bling Bling
I've got some extra time this morning soo. Are there any Certified detailers on here? If so tell us how you received the title. I took the automagic class and I am certified as a finish detailer. Alright well i'm out for the day

I'm certified by myself. :D I don't need someone's stamp of approval to feel good about what I do. Honestly, my customers care more about the quality of job that I do than about how I got the knowledge. I'd say my years of experience have given me more than any two week course that a beginner can take. I'm not discounting your certification, I'm just saying that this is one industry where experience counts for something. I'd love to take a PDR class and touch up paint class. I could probably learn it on my own through trial and error, but I'd rather have someone teach me. I doubt I'll be hanging that certificate on the wall though. The fact that I know how to do it is enough for the people who come to me.

What did your automagic class teach you? Was it a long course? Do you feel it was a value? Just curious. I haven't ever looked into theirs. I've looked into a couple of other "schools" as research for something I was working on once. I'm interested in what you thought about the experience.

Getting a certificate of some kind seems like a good thing for marketing purposes if someone is just starting out, it seems to me. Can`t hurt and some people judge almost everything by a person`s certificates.

I was Certified by myself way before i took they class. I Took it mainly to see what it offered and to have that peice of paper thats says certified finish detailer. The class itself will help out a newbie greatly. The class has taught me a few tricks which is mainly what i went for. It never hurts to learn a few new tricks. So it is of value if your just starting out and need to learn thoe whole aspect of detailing or if you just want to refine your skills.
