What gets black this good?

Here is a custom paint job and what it can be made to look like...

This is my car in my driveway and I took the picture -- the only thing that has been done with it as resize it since was huge. I would love to see it if scottwax got hold it!!!
 
Well my wife's car is like this :



It took me full 8 hours with a rotary, an orbital, a heckof a lot of MF towels, a wool pad, a pink and a yellow foam pad, Meguiar's line up from 00 to Final Inspection with plenty of Meg' s Quik Detailer



I did not use so much of fluorescent lights (and probably true Photoshop CS) to take jazzy pics like those...

I'm not really sure what you mean by "pure paint"? Do you mean no orange peel or no marring, or maybe both? Not to rag on that vette pic, but as others have mentioned soft artificial lighting is not the best way to judge a cars paint. The pics from Dennis, Scott and Zane are, imo, more impressive.
 
How do you post including the picture ??? I could only manage attaching the file... I could not figure out how to post the big pic !!! :hairpull
 
It need to be hosted somewhere, then all you do is type

WOW finally found a car I can do a complete detail on in under 6 hours!!! Where can I get 2 of those (One for each arse cheek)!!! LOL Wow that is a pretty cool lil car!

I am sure the car looks great, but under that kind of lighting, even a not all that well prepped car will look good. The real test is in the sun, like in Zane's picture.



Good prep and (in my case) a plethora of carnauba slathered over the prep do the trick:

BINGO! Good lighting can make any detailed car look even better.

The nearest Hyundai dealer I suppose... This is the "all new" Getz model... They may be called "Click" in the US as they call it "Click" in Korea.



And it took me 8 hours to get this car into this shape. It is no easy task to mess around with opaque paint... Metallic is always easier... You finish off everything, the moment you try to wipe off a fleck of dust, you disccover a brand new problem and have to deal with it for a while...



However yes, the baby shows what efforts were meant to deliver...

They all looked really well detailed to me, not just clean. That Corvette that Zane posted, shot in full sun looks incredible. Under soft indoor lighting, it would look at least as good, if not better than the Corvette in the first post.

Its hard to put into words what I was thinking. Pure, clean were the words that came to my mind. Its all good my man. I get your point.
 
I'm going with Scottwax route. The lighting can produce eye candy on darker whip(ghetto for car). :nana:



My cousin dont live too far from DD, I passed by there many times and wow. They do have some sexy whip there.
