Wasted Money on Tire Shine...

I posted a few weeks ago about buying a bunch of cans of tire shine from Walmart since they were on sale. After talking to my parents about the new house they are having built and we are moving to in June, I realized I might have wasted money on aerosol cans of tire shine because we will have a concrete driveway and supposedly the home owners association is strict about "stains" on the driveways. The tire shine I use now stains the asphalt driveway so I'm thinking its going to be even more noticeable on the concrete driveway. Looks like I'm going to have to try to sell or give away my current tire shines come June if I don't use it all before then which maybe possible. Looks like I'm going to have invest in some tire gel...any recommendations? I'm probably going to need a gallon bottle because I have a truck with All-terrains and my dad has a truck so that will probably use up a good amount of it due to me liking shiny tires :naughty

why not cut out a piece of cardboard and make it so that it shields the driveway. that or use and applicator by spraying it on the applicator in the grass or somethign and then walking to u're car. u can still use it for the wheel wells. when spraying in the direction of the wheelwells it should hit the floor. unless the product is sooo messy it squirts everywhere

Hmmm, do you still have your receipt? I would think Walmart would take them back, and at least give you store credit. I second the idea to spray in the street; even better if its across the street... :D

id either pull it into the street or put a terry cloth or two down on the driveway to catch all of the overspray.

I used to use Stoners but I've switched to Poorboys BnB. I spray it on a foam pad, (Dollar Generals 5 pack) and just wipe the tire. No overspray, it dries quick and leaves a very nice shine. I've also sprayed it directly on my tires and haven't noticed any staining on my garage floor.

shelshel: Bingo! We have a winner. I've used more tire dressings.... no way could I ever remember them all.

One sticks out, Poorboys Bold n' Bright. Simply the best.

I put a rag on the floor prior to spraying. I don't know about other walmarts but the one near my house there rumours going around that its possible to return stuff from other stores to walmart, you just say you lost the receipt and they give store credit. I was on the floor the first time I heard it.

Another thought too - what stains asphalt may not stain concrete. Try spraying your tire shine on a curb near your current house and see what happens. You may be pleasantly surprised. Or not.
