Vroom, Viking MF Towels

why does it matter if there thin or thick? The layer is still microfiber with tiny little hairs in it, so why would it scratch? Do you really need big fat plush ones?

Depends on what you're doing. If you're trying to dry a car, the thin ones suck. If you're wiping down glass, thin is better.

Are you guys talking about the grey Vroom Detailing MF cloth? The one with the dual sides, short nap on 1 side, and medium nap on other side.

I just came back from Target and noticed that they are coming out with new(?) grey ones. The nap on both sides are short now.

Would you guys still recommend using the newer(?) short nap for your paint still?

Green Viking MF towels > Vroom Gray MF towels.

It's more plush, and the towels don't lint like the Vroom brand.

yep, and i've been using them with no issues after repeated washes. excellent towels!

Pep Boys is stocking some high end MF towels as well.

i've seen the yellow & gray ones (carrand) that are similiar to the eurow shag towels, but they still aren't as nice. not to mention they are more expensive when bought individually (iirc $7.99 each)...

Anyone tried the 25 towel package of orange MF's from sam's club. They were 16" X 16". I saw the package for $9.49 at sam's club and thought not a bad price. They look a lot like the vroom orange towels and seemed soft as well.

Everytime I check out Pep boys, there's no MF towels that are as plush. I forgot the brand, but I'll drop by sometime after work to see what's new.

I hopped on the hype wagon and bought a package of the walmart WW towels in housewares, as well as some VROOM from Target. Funny thing is, I can't bring myself to use them. When I reach into my towel box, my hand just goes to the PakShak and Danase towels. Every time.

It feels like next time, I may have to FORCE myself to use the OTC cheapies, (like the scene from Dr. Strangelove where one of his hands fights the other. As if anyone still remembers...).

buy a pack, try them out and see how they work for you. if you don't like them for paint (most everyone uses them for non-paint related tasks), you can use them for the grunge work...

I went to Target today and they had 3 different types of gray Vroom towels. Which type do you all get?

The gray ones that come in packs of 4. They're currently $5.99 for the four pack(that might have been a sale price). They're more expensive than the other gray ones that they stock and have a much softer feel to them.
