unusual goooy stuff on paint

I was away for a few days and when I got home I washed the wife's car. There was something on the roof that stood up at least 1/4" and 1/4" round and was soft and sticky, I though it was some sort of sap. Some could be removed by pinching with fingers as it was soft. I tried IPA on it and in about 2 or 3 minutes it slowly dissolved but something was left on the roof. It is absolutely clear, amoeba shaped and very flat. It looks like a splatter of clear coat, it is raised above the surface, the surface is not etched. I then tried some thinner and then some scratchx but nothing touched what was left. I left it alone from here. What is this?

Probably just because the panel heat would be higher than the air heat , it kind of fused to the clear .

Sap or what not - give a quality clay + QD a shot
