Towels: beat this deal (Poorboys Mega)

Monster Fluffy?

do you really need a towel that plush? What's next my Martha Stewart Bathroom towels cut into 12X12 squares? What are the benefits to your paint in having a 1/2" thick loop? Other than it feeling nice an pillowy in your hand

I think most towels are already TOO BIG, they fall out of my hand (FK #425 makes it too slick :) ) or the end of the towel will touch the ground when I'm getting to the bottom edge of the door.

Or if I catch a thread the whole BIG towel gets demoted to wheel and under body duty.

p.s.

I don't have any Martha Stewart towels.

Oh and thanks to the coward that just left me negative karma: "Go complain at Detailers Club - no one here cares what u think of Poorboys"

If he quoted what someone left him as bad Karma then that looks like member bashing to me. Actually I think its worse than calling someone a coward.

The towels from MFT and ATD *seem* to be the same/similar. *IF* they are the same you'd have to play around at each site as the value changes depending on the quantity you're ordering.

I forgot about those :thx they may be the best value. have heard some great things about them. does anybody have any thoughts on these ? they are priced right .

They are a great towel. The soft MF edging is very conformable...I don't really like silk edging as I feel it makes the towel too stiff...doesn't fold or drape as well. They are super soft and plush, one side more so than the other.

Am i the only one that does not like super plush towels? They work great the first couple uses, but no matter what I do they ALWAYS become imbedded with crap that will scratch the pain. At that point I just use them to wipe down a dusty interior which they do a pretty good job at. My favorites are waffle weaves and polishing towels like the blue ones from excel.

Well thanks for the info. at that price I will have to give them a shot. if I do not like them they can be used for some grunge work. by * looking * at them they might be nice for QEW or Opt no rinse in the winter. I hate to use my more expensive towels for this but I do want something with a longer nap to keep dirt away from the finish. they might also be nice for drying after a no rinse wash . appreciate the review. do you guys think these would fit the bill ? they would be very cost effective. :spot

Eric, you bring up a good point. Plush towels aren't right for everything. Some people feel with a spray sealant, they absorb too much product. They definitely can be less effective in trying to cut some polish/sealant/wax residues. But they are great for QD, because of the deep nap, and for final buffing. Every time I used one of the Excel Supremes I say to myself what a great towel that is, it has a very terry-like feel, it has perhaps the perfect compromise nap length in that it's plush enough for most everything, but has enough bite for everything as well. A great all-around towel at a great qty. price. Sorry for the thread-jack.
