Tough day for an Autopian

I mentioned finding a huge door ding on my fender today in another thread, well to add insult to injury I just stopped off to get some gas and looked down my hood. Some cat at some point in the day had a hard time bonding to the NXT on the car, marring in lines all down the hood, looks awful. It not too bad, not claw marks it simply looks like the pads of the cat's feet slipping on the dust that was on the hood created some marring. PI-III-MG and a yellow pad should do away with it.

So tomorrow there's an appointment with the PDR people and I'll have to fit some time in to polish the hood and the roof and re-apply the NXT. Hopefully it'll be a better day...

Thanks for listening to the vent ;)

It has rained for the past 3 days here. It didn't start clearing out until late afternoon and the roads still had a lot of wet spots. I lost a lot of business already and rain is forecast for late Saturday and most of the day on Sunday. I really am hoping for at least a 2 month drought.

That sucks! I was servicing some vehicles at a corporate office a week ago, and when I went to get something out my vehicle, I noticed several paw prints from the CEO's cat all over my freshly detailed vehicle.......:angry Let's just say, I was two steps away from causing a cat to fly!

I've got a customer's car in for a full detail -- they just bought it (2000 BMW 325Ci 'Vert) and want it to look brand spankin' new.

Well wouldn't you know my "real" boss called me in to the studio this morning and we ended up shooting digital shots all day to test a bunch of digital cameras (the $20,000 and up ones guys ;)) that we're thinking of purchasing.

So one day of my three-day promised job was instantly eliminated, and my M Coupe is outside while the customer's car is inside, and I hate parking it outside. I think I've only had it out 3 or 4 nights since I bought it.

Oh well, such is life eh?

And to stay on the cat topic: I spent 4 days on another customer's car last week (it was due in on its lease return) and put it in their garage overnight for his dealership appointment the next morning. I was outside waxing my Coupe the next morning when he came by in a real hurry -- their cat had walked all over it that night (black Lexus RX300) and there were a ton of paw prints. ARGH!

A little Sonus and it was good to go.

Ben,

Dont know if this helps you or not, but I detailed a Perguet 306 Convertable on Monday. To clean the roof I used my extractor with hot water with the pressure turned right up.

I came out like new.

Regards

Tony

dolt! that sucks man...we all feel your pain!

Fortunately, I was driving the older car to work yesterday when a kicked up rock put a nice chip on the passenger side windshield (BTW, thanks you noo noo whoever you are who cut me off on 395 northbound at 5:15am...I really appreciate it!).

Anyway, it looks to be a good candidate for DIY repair (small, little to no spidering, etc)..so, I'm thinking about giving it a whirl...

the cat thing happened to my freshly waxed car at a superbowl party this year. I got home at like 11pm and pulled out the menzerna final polish + white pad and removed the paw scratches and rewaxed on all horizontal surfaces then reapplied NXT and it was good to go.

I had a 1989 Camaro (black) that I had buffed to where it looked like a pool of oil. I parked the car at my sister-in-law's' house and she insisted on feeding a stray cat...after buffing off the marks for the umpteenth time, I broke out the 5.5 mm Sheridan and sent the cat a message (before anyone yells cruelty, I only put two pumps in the gun, so all it did was sting like crazy)

My neighbor has a cat that walks on mine occasionally .. I put a fitted crib sheet on the hood and I had a lil chat withthe owner of the cat .. Told him it was *his* problem.. not mine so solve it before I do. I told him I will risk the additional scratches as the cat bolts from a pellet in the butt. Same cat P*sses all over my BBQ.

Don't get me wrong I love pets .. have a dog that *isn't* allowed to sit outside and have the neighbors enjoy her barking.

I don't feel I should have to enjoy sharing the cat p*ss all over.

Cost me $300 to redo the hood of my 99 Black Silverado cuz of cat scratches and I mentioned if he has $300 a couple times a year the cat is welcome to sit there.

Soon as it warms a bit I have cat paw prints to buff out from the cat with wet dirty feet jumping up on it.

Sure, its a matter of respect. If his cat goes and damages people's property then he shouldn't be allowed out.

I'm off to the PDR place LOL Wish me luck.

best way to shoot at cats is to use a paint ball gun they move very quickly away from your car when shot.though personal preference would be my .22 hunting rifle with silencer but the law frowns :nonoon that . but they would only walk on my van once :xyxthumbs .

Thankfully, in both my old neighborhood and the parking lot here at the barracks, cats are practically nonexistent. No worries.

Though I do feel for y'all who have to put up with it.
