Today is the day I will do my hood in the full Duragloss lineup

Yes, I believe so. I used the 111 on our white pickup last fall without the 601. I used the 601 on one small section. With white it was difficult to tell if the 601 improved gloss. What is interesting is that both 601 and ZFX contain aliphatic hydrocarbons-whatever that means(I'm not claiming that those aliphatic hydrocarbons are exactly the same tho).
Some advantages to this are no mixing drops, no wasting un-used product, available locally-if not, no expensive z-$hipping costs, etc .... I think we've hit a nerve ... again ... http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?t=9046&highlight=duragloss ... In doing various Searches for DuraGloss and related product threads, I've noticed that over the years it seems to get supressed ... could this be that good in Durability that some zealots don't want this known?

As I've said before they aren't the same product. But they have charactaristics that are very similar and seem to work in a similar chemical manner. After having used Duragloss 601/111/AW and Zaino ZFX/Z5pro and Z2pro each have a slightly different look. I would say Duragloss is more wet and Z2pro is more shiny and Z5pro more carnaubaish . IMO it comes down to personal prefference as to which looks best on what color. Directly comparing Z8 to AW (which users claim look similar) the AW costs 1/3 the price and from all indications outlasts Z8 as well.

Does Aquawax have to be used with the PBA or can it just be used over an existing layer of something like NXT? I'm very curious about testing this line with all of the talk lately.

AW does not need the PBA. It can be used as a LSP, i.e. over nearly anything.

The only thing that is used with PBA are the polishes, i.e. #101, 111, or 105.
