Thoughts on new OCW

I've read that Souveran Paste can have this affect, but I have yet to crack open my jar to see how it would look on my car.

Souveran Paste on my own car (the dark spots in the first picture are dirt clods on the driveway reflected in the paint):

Poli-Seal buffed off with the new OCW:

^ Thanks for those pics of the Souveran Scott. The metallic doesn't seem to be muted at all in those first couple of pics. That looks really good.

And the OCW definitely didn't look to mute the metallic either. Nice comparison of the two.

Thanks.

I may have misspoken by saying "muted." What I meant by muted was that Glow you see in the pics, like the sun is absorbed and diffused instead of little sharp points of reflection. If there is no direct light it shows sharp reflection and in direct light it glows, I think it's really cool, I didn't mean it as a negative. Hope that clarifies.

Just like the original version of OCW, it also works well removing Poli-Seal and laying down additional protection and depth. I've been really happy with the results so far.

Scott,

How long do you go between applications of OCW for your clients' cars? I know there are lots of variables...however what is your general rule for the cars you detail regularly?

Thanks!

I try not to let my customer's cars go past 3 months no matter what I use, but OCW seems to still be holding up nicely. No heavy industry or acid rain around here probably helps though.

scott,

sounds good ! ocw being able to hold up for 3 months !

what has been layered or prepped below that layer of ocw ? and how many layers of the ocw have you got there ?

sounds like a good combo to last 3 months hey

One of my customers now has 8 layers of OCW on his black Z06 (he wants it washed/waxed every two weeks) and it has some pretty sick depth.

Mostly I use it over Poli-Seal or for to buff off carnaubas like Carnauba Moose.

wow 8 layers, it must be pretty slick. I had wonderful slickness with just 2 layers of OS and OCW.

hoa many layers of OS did you put on this customers ? with such slickness, makes you wonder if OS is really needed that often, I know my opti seal will be used less frequently now that I've got my gallon of ocw. :)

and yeah the ocw really makes the removal of poli seal so easy. I tried to buff it off by hand yesterday and then I remembered you saying before that ocw helps, and true enough, it worked !

How can you tell the new OCW from the Old one. Cause I see a gallon of OCW for 24.99 on ebay and goes for 39.99 at autogeek. I ask the guy if its the new formula and he said yes ???

The label is different. I just checked it out and IMO its the old formula. Regardless of what he says there is no way he would be selling it that cheap.

The new formula was never bottled in the old package.

Looked at his entire store. it's like the Auto Geek bargain bin.
