Polaris- Since you had the problem before the shop got the car, let's hope it's NOT the situation Guitarman was explaining.
I honestly don't know if you should remove the NXT or not....I *THINK* that if it were *MY* car, I'd take it off with some #80, which might also help your other problems.
But you still have classes, right? Man, when I had black cars they ate my life and that sometimes messed me up at school..but that's a different issue
While you wait for pads that you'll be ordering-hint hint (or maybe just get them locally), I agree about cross-contamination. Maybe some cotton terry pads would work OK by hand. Heh heh, half a C5 isn't what *I* would call local, but then you're still young
