Surf City Clearly Better vs Stoners IG

I have IG and it works well, I Just bought some SC, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. It's only $12.99 shipped for 2 liters at SCG.

I think you need more than one choice anyways. One glass cleaner may clean a film off an interior window easily where a different cleaner has trouble. Then on a different car its the other way around. They each have a different set of solvents meant for cleaning different kinds of dirt. You should keep 2-3 choices on hand in case you get some nasty stubborn filmed windows that your 1 choice can't handle.

Same opinion here :xyxthumbs Even the method of delivery can have pros/cons (e.g., trying to use an aerosol outside in windy conditions without getting it all over the paint).

Speaking of specific tasks, anybody tried the SC Clearly Better on roadsalt residue? I find that to be a real challenge, it just wants to smear; I find it hard to get that stuff off 100% without washing the car.

Man, you should have posted this yesterday and I would have tried it out... My black eclipse looked white because of all of the salt... I took it to the coin op and spray most of it off.

Heh heh, I suspect we'll have plenty of additional opportunities before spring :D

I'm sure of that... I drove almost 5 hours in the snow/salt/ice so that car was completely covered!!! I drove from PA, through MD to WV in the stuff.

Yikes! Next time you do such a thing, try cleaning the windshield 100% and see how your cleaner does. That's the sort of job where a new/nearly-new WWMF for glass makes the job a whole lot easier, but the right cleaner contributes a lot too.

Off-topic- Do you run snows on that thing? My (1st-gen) WRX was surprisingly bad in the snow until I put Blizzaks on it (they were left over from an Audi, same size exactly).

'I just ordered SC 2 Liter glass cleaner. Free shipping and it was on my doorstep on the 2nd day. It has gotten great reviews from here but most of all I have not had great experience with anything period. I get the hazy, foggy, streaks look everytime. Interesting since the one thing I HATE doing is windows and that is where I spend alot of my time working on. I ordered my glass cleaning MF towels from pakshak, and this cleaner should do well.\r\n\r\nI wanted to add that my buddy who works at Advanced Auto Parts told me there having a buy one get one free sale the first week of Febuary for Stoners. I\'ll bring it up again when the time comes, but for now just giving the heads up. He\'s holding a few cans for me. :woot2: \r\n\r\n\r\n-M.A.D'

I really like my PakShack WWMFs for glass, but they eventually start to lint (whereupon I just get out some new ones). Please post back about if/when yours start linting. It takes about four-six months of regular use before mine do and I'm curious about how other peoples' experiences will compare with mine.

I honestly haven't even driven the WRX in the snow. I was in my 300hp FWD Eclipse during that little trip. I wasn't really expecting it to snow and was running 18's with Toyo Proxes 4's. They're not really made for snow but I made it just fine. I Grew up on top of the Allegheny mountain so I'm used to driving in snow.

I don't think that the WRX will be driven in the snow at all this winter. I'll drive either the Ranger or the Neon. As far as winter tires go, I've had the best luck with Cooper Weathermasters.

We're supposed to get a little snow in the next week, so hopefully I'll be able to try the SC out then!!

jshillin- Ah, OK. Yeah, I understand not driving a good AWD in the snow...the salt/etc. wreaks havoc on the untreated aluminum bits underneath and they're never *quite* 100% afterwards.

Funny how some cars are better than others in the snow..and some tires work a lot better on one car than they do on another (those Blizzaks were super on an Audi, barely so-so on the Subie).
