Hi Intermezzo!

What I mean is that some people claim that Zaino looks just like fresh paint when others complain about its "over-reflectivity." But on other posts, they say things like, "I have never seen a car leave a dealership looking like that!!" or in other words, prove that it does give a distinctive look… not just that new-car look.

HAHAHAHHA. BW, I understand exactly your confusion. Well, I think it just happens that everyone use different words to express the same thing... Happens everyday. Ask 5 people to describe the shine on Zaino, and I won't be surprised to receive more than 1 different descriptions. Confusing? Maybe. My take on this is OPTICAL CLARITY . "Just like a fresh paint", "over-reflectivity", and "I have never seen a car leave a dealership looking like that" all fall into "optical clarity" category, so if you can look at it in this aspect then I think that may help your confusion. :)

I too am a Zaino user. I like both the Z5 and Z2 and alternate between the two. In between washes, I like the Z6 for a quick detail. It is yet the best QD I have found. For the durability and shine, the Zaino products are worth every penny.

With a new car is there a certain period one should wait before polishing and waxing? I was once told that clear coats stay tacky for awhile. Also, NEVER let the car dealer touch your new car, I just recieved mine with 9 miles on the odometer PLUS SWIRLS!!!!!!

Viking,

With Zaino, you can polish the car as soon as you receive it. Zaino polishes expand and contract along with the paint surface and sheet metal so any possible curing can continue (even though most paint is fully cured by the time it reaches customer hands). Zaino can also be used after 1 to 2 weeks after a fresh repaint. BUT, it is NOT recommended to use any carnauba or abrasive polishes on new cars for about 30 to 60 days. If you're not using Zaino, the best you should do is use a new car glaze formulated for new cars, like Meguiar's New Car Glaze, or 3M IHG which offer no protection. And, you're correct, car dealers don't know squat about detailing and should be avoided at ALL COSTS!!

RedCar Guy,

Sweet pix of that RSX! I agree with Wiliam420, no matter how you describe the appearance of Zaino, it can always be summed up with the two words "optical clarity".

You see what I mean?

BW, good point there. I guess the only thing I could say is that Zaino looks like fresh paint ONLY in the sense that it doesn't tint the original color... However, it is still distinctive from fresh paint in the sense that Zaino will make your car very reflective and shiny. Dunno.....now you've got ME confused! :)
