My home depot appliance purchasing exp.

yeah i fired off an email to them with this. the same email as above. here is an update i put on the bottom.

Update. I have not been able to resolve the issue with certegy as home depot is dragging it's feet on verifing that i did actuall cancel my order, and never recieved the products. I still have not spoken with neil geohri. Every time some one tells me he is in, he is out. In short i see this as home depot's way of punishing the customer having the audacity to cancel an order. If you wonder why your quarterly has dropped 28%.. This a a big reason why. Pissing off guys like me who have nothing better to do than to post this on 22 internet forums and relate their expiences of shopping with home depot. There is an old addage in marketing, a happy customer will tell 2 people, and unhappy customer will tell 12. Well sirs I posted this on 22 forums with over 9000 views on just two forums. hundreds of replies, I told a whold lot more than 12... how un happy do you think i am....

So i recieved a call from john fountain assistant manager at HD issaquah on wednesday morning. He apparently was able to resolve homedepot's side of the paper issue with Certegy.

I asked for written confirmation that i did not infact owe the 3857 that they claimed. his was response was ask certegy. He believed it would be posted to my certegy control account by 5pm pst.

I called certegy at 7pm pst and found out it had not been posted. After a discussion with the person on the phone they found the paperwork and suposedly stopped all collection actions. At this point i asked for written confirmation that i never owed this amount of 3857. Certegy responded by saying they are not required nor will they send me such verification. I reworded my request and asked for written confirmation that all collection actions have ceased.

Certegy's response was that is not possible. I replied so i have to take your word on the fact collections have cease. The manager responded yes. I asked what is to stop you from not posting the info to my account even though you said you did. Waiting the perscribed 30days mandated by law (at this point on wedsday 16 days had passed already) And leaving me with this debt weather or not i truely owed it.

There response was silence. I responded doesn't certegy buy debt claims from homedepot for pennies on the dollar? You then recieve the lions share of any amount recovered? So if you simply wait the remaining days of the 30 days given to me by law, i will be legally responsible, and you are able to take full collective action.

their response was sir we would not do that. I replied I want written confirmation that i did not infact owe this amount of money, that this debt issue has been resolved with in this perscribed 30 days by law.

they hung up.

So I am contemplating what to do next.

Today i recieved a phone call from Homedepots' WE hear you email campaign. The gentleman had not read my email. So i read it to him, i then relayed homedepots response to the request for a letter stating i did not owe the debt and thissue had been resolved.

I then related my last phone call with certegy.

Why do i know that is exactly what certegy was planning to do? My wife's professional area of focus is fincancial services. She spent 7 years auditing insurance, debt collection, and credit card companies. This is and was common practice. They are required to issue you a letter of finality upon request.

Right now i am extremely upset about how even at the end of this POS process HD is ambilelent. The We hear you phone caller said, i don't know when i will get this finished for you but i will. I replied you have less then 10 days.

grrrrrrr.

I am sure you are not the first person this has happened to.

It looks like you have a case for a class action lawsuit against HD and Certegy.

maybe you can call one of your news stations... they're usually pretty good at getting to the bottom of this, and more people need to be aware of how poorly managed and low quality a store like Home Depot is, anyway

I suppose you can also call your Attorney General... or maybe not, since I'm not sure this qualifies as "fraud" or whatnot

Tell the BBB about all the companies involved as well

That's ridiculous that they won't give you written confirmation!

Wow, sounded like a PITA. I have been in your shoes with days and days without, well, a dryer only. Family of 5, the laundry piles up QUICK.

I looked everywhere for a dryer, and no one had the one we wanted in stock. Either the didn't, or did, but in gas, not electric.

Broke down and went to Home Depot. What we wanted was not in stock there either. Went to looking again, and hey had a dryer that was going out of stock and not getting in anymore. The last one was the display model. It was already marked down 50%. I tolds them I would take it. When we moved it, one whole side was dented in...crap....

I thought to myself, it is going to be in between a cabinet and the washer, so it would not be visible. I made them knock another 40% off the already 50%. I made out like a bandit. I never buy something that is not in stock. I have always been that way.

Wow that is bull, i am contract delivery driver for home depot in nevada, the problem with the promised delivery dates and times is that the sales people don't follow procedure when they setup deliveries, they should send the request to the DWCC(Delivery Will Call Coordinator) and that person should contact you regarding the delivery.

Appliances and things of that nature can be to the Store that you ordered from within 24 hours of the time that you place and pay for your order. the only things that take any longer than that is Lumber, S/O Floorings, S/O Doors and S/O Windows.

Worst Case Scenareo is if it had to come from the HD Direct Warehouse, But they can just deliver it themselves (within 48 hours).

It All Comes down to the Store Managers Discretion. If he Really Cared he would have made sure it is done.

I Am in no way Sticking up for homedepot, Half of the money i make comes from their **** ups.

Sorry that they screwed you over and hopefully it works out for you in the end.

FYI....ordered a dryer from Sears this past Saturday and it was delivered today (Tuesday) with zero problems. Even got 10% off on it with 12 months no interest. Forget Home Depot!
