I have been using the PC since 1995. I've been through a few pads since and most of my pads are Meg's.
In all that time (9 years) I've had only two pads separate one Meg's and one LC. Those were due to excessive speed with a heavily loaded pad. I still use pads that are years old and have been on dozens of cars. I still have a few of the original W6000 pads that I occasionally use on ss paints.
I attribute my success with pads to;
1. I dedicate the pad to a particular product.
2. I don't wash pads. I brush and spank them when they are dry to dislodge loose material.
3. I store them in open plastic bags to keep them dust free but allow them to air dry.
As always, YMMV.
