i just detailed a eclipse gts 04. it is almost new but had some light to moderate swirls on it. the swirls were just the same on a lot of other cars i have done and the process i used took them all out on the other cars but not this one. it took about 60 percent of them out. i used dacp on a cutting pad and worked it in well. the only reasons i could come up with were that it is superstrong clear or that maybe i didnt remove all the zaino from before. would buffing over zaino not do much? i used sonus prewax cleaner and i think that should have took everything off so i am wondering what the problem is. any suggestions? i wouldnt think i would need a stronger product.

The Dacp should cut through the zaino, especially with a cutting pad. I have not used the sonus prewax so I have no idea how strong it is or what it is capable of.

I usually use something called Klean to remove any products on the paint.

There probably deeper. I ran into that problem with a 2002 Eclipse. Normally I would just go 1Z Metallic Polish, but I had to go to 1Z Ultra Polish. I bought the new Sonus SFX Series but I haven't tried it. I heard great things about it. Especiallywith there SFX Pads

allright im getting really mad. i worked dacp with pressure with a cutting pad and nothing is coming off...im going to buy something else...anyone else have any recomendations? 1z?

3M PI III RC (rubbing compound) followed by 3M PI III MG (machine glaze). These are two very good products that work very well and are easy to use, they are my favorite polishes. I've yet to hear someone who has used these and didn't like them.

well i went outside and said i wasnt going to give up so i threw on a new sonus orange cutting pad and some dacp and worked the heck out of a 2 foot area. usually i dont use speed 6 but i did this time and put a lot of pressure on it. i worked it in for a LONG time and i wiped it off. i was actually really surprized that a lot of the swirls came out. probably 90 percent. the only thing i did differently was got a new pad and stepped it up to speed 6 so i dont know how it worked differently but i am now satisfied. i was thankful that i didnt have to use anything harsher as its a pretty new car but i figured it out after 3 hours. :)

speed 5.5-6 is what I always do my polishing with. With Dacp making sure it is worked until almost completly gone is a must for the most benefit from it.

If you are having to work it for a LONG time trying cutting back on how much product you are using, that might help you out a little bit.

I have a 2003 Mitsu Lancer and I used 3M's PIII RC with Megs #82 and got ride of 99.9% of the swirls, you need to spend more time and use several passes to rid them !
