Is it just me , or...

has anyone ever QD'd their vehicle even if (ESPECIALLY if) they knew it was gonna rain ; just to see how a product would hold up?

To wit : I've heard about the beading ability of two particular products : Collinite 845 and Glass Science window treatment.

As we've been having sporadic rain lately , I figured it'd be a good time to test these products.

So, in between rainfalls I've been QD'ing and testing , and I'm happy to say that the rumors were true --- both products bead LIKE MAD.

(Now if I can just convince the neighbors that these particular acts of lunacy were actually done for an ostensibly rational purpose)..........

:help:

I should have clarified---

by "QD" I mean washing the car and applying LSP as opposed to a full blown prep and polish. More of a product-test detail.

However , if I were to use a proper QD in that situation , I would use something without waxes such as Mother's Showtime or Meg's Final Inspection or PB's S&W....(all wax-free , I believe?).

I did an entire detail before it rained, so the dirt would wash off easier after. Our rains here in texas are full of dirt and the more wax you have, the easier it is to wash afterward.

I test a lot of stuff during rainy periods, whats wrong with that? Just to be funny today, during a lull in a thundershower, put shampoo all over the car, knowing the rain would rinse (We got 2 inches of rain in about an hour).... It works, but I get these ... looks.....;)

Driving down the road about 70 afterwards, I get this shine.....:LOLOL

of course, but not for product testing. more for the "oooohh look at the beads" and "ooooohh look at how they fly off the car when i drive fast!" :D

I tested my Foam Gun on a rainy day. Foamed the truck and van up and let the rain wash it away. The neighbors down the block were looking at all the suds running down the curbs ......wondering where it came from. :)
