I'm sick of this crap (swirls)

Hey bud..i just signed up today for this forum and would really like to learn as much as I can..but to maybe try and help you out. I have used a product made by 3m which is just a hand glaze. I am not sure what exactly you were looking for, but i do know that 3m hand glaze will cover the swirls, the things that sucks about it is that when you wash yourcar the next time they come right back..kinda a pain in the a$$ if you know what i mean. but i thought it might be a suggestion.

Welcome to Autopia!

Actually, we were talking about that. If you look through the posts here, you will eventually find a reference to something called "IHG," which is the glaze by 3M you mentioned. It stands for "Imperial Hand Glaze," of course. We use lots and lots of acronyms.

Anyway, I appreciate your help... I'm still deciding on whether to just go w/ glaze and wax instead of my sealant to kinda hide those swirls... much rather just get a PC (Porter Cable, used to refer to orbital buffers used extensively here) and just get rid of the crap.

Anyway, welcome! :xyxthumbs

Welcome Viper04! :wavey

As you'll find out, IHG is just the tip of the iceberg here. Prepare to surrender your credit card! :D

First off, to the people that have silver cars or any other... "understated" color: can you even see swirls and stuff on your paint? How hard / easy to see them, if you can at all?

Its funny you should ask. I bought a used SILVER TAURUS about 2 mos ago. I haven't, until recently done anything to it except wash/dry. It wasn't extremely shiny, but not pathetic. I couldn't see any swirls until.....I carefully washed w/chenille mit, patted dry w/waffle weave, clayed, polished, sealed, waxed, etc. (you know the routine). It's hard to see them, but I'm gonna keep on trying until you can see them from a mile away.;)
