Helped the girlfriend....Kinda long :(

Today it was nice here in SW Virginia so my girlfriend wanted to go clean the interior of her car at one of those do-it-yourselfers where it cost 75 cents to vacuum out the interior as fast as you can. She wanted me to go with her because she also needed air in her tires as well. So we pull up next to the vacuum and she starts pushing seats back and finding all kinds of trash. I was disgusted with her because she's a clean girl. Bottles, napkins, pens on the seats :angry I was furious. I couldn't believe she let her car get that way. Well while she was using those crappy Armour All APC wipes I was vacuuming the carpets and stuff. I removed all the floormats and came around to the driver side.... :angry She's one of those who just opens the door and plops her butt down on the seat without noticing that the floormat is basically on the passengers side. She comes over and sees me shaking my head in disgust. She's like, "Oh yeah, thats really dirty, I don't know why its like that!" I quickly showed her way. I continue to vacuum all the car and then the vaccuum quits on me..time was up. Good thing I brought my Four Star Carpet & Upholstry cleaner with me. I grapped the interior brush that I gave her a while back thinking she was actually going to use it along with the other cleaning stuff I gave her. I scrubbed the carpets really good and then put more money in the vacuum to get all the crap that was loosened from the carpet. I thought I was done being grossed out until I saw what was embedded in the interior brush....CLUMPS and STRANDS of hair :hurl It was gross. She wanted to power wash it but I told her to hold off because its supposed to snow and sleet all day tomorrow so it would have been pointless. The whole time we were cleaning it she told me I was too anal about cars..blah blah blah. I keep telling her I believe in "Carism" which I explained to her that it means "If you take care of your car inside, out and engine wise....your car will take care of you." She thought I was even dumber after telling her that. She was very thankful that I went with her to clean the interior. For V-Day I gave her a certificate that says I owe her a complete car detail so as soon as it gets nice around here for good, I'm gonna take care of her car, "Suzy", inside and out with all my PB's products. Sorry for it being so long but I'm sure some of you can sympathize with me! :beer

Man do I feel you on this one. My girl is the most organized person when it comes to her room/closet/schoolwork and then you look into her car and it looks like my interior + a dresser full of clothes + a tornado. I always take care of her car because I can not stand to be in it when it is dirty but even after 2-3 weeks its nasty. Last time I cleaned out atleast 15 water bottles and a load of clothes. The way she treats her car should be illegal, but that is probably my fault since I help her clean it. To top it all off her parents are planning on getting her a new car for graduation, probably a G35 coupe. I sit there like "what about me? She treats cars like *hit. Get me one and I'll take great care of it."

O man.. i feel ya.. My sister is like that. I totally feel for ya on the floor mat benig way out of place. I hate that becuase you have to reform the dumb things to get them to fit right.

and the worst thing i find is when it is family is EXPECTED that you take care of their car. and for free. family eh?

my brother is the same way. last time i was home, he told me my car was too clean. i then tried to explain that a car can never be too clean. i have pretty much given up on him. ive moved on to my dad, who is much more receptive to my tips. i hope you have better luck with the girlfriend.

Ahhh, girlfriends - where do I start? :ranton I do this a lot, but it seems to amount to nothing.

"normal people dont take 4 hours to wash their car"

What she forgets is that normal people have swirled up POS cars. This car gets no love, and it alomst bring tears to my eyes. I have given up lecturing her, I just clean it for my own piece of mind or I would go batty. She loves getting comments from people at her work or her friends, but do I get any help? Yeah right. She is not a very "hands on" girl - lucky she can cook.......

Normal people suck

That being said, you guys have just described the wife's Jeep. I have never had to do a complete (shampoo/extraction included) detail on any other car 3-4 times in one summer like I do hers. Half of the time, I've had to use those plastic "scrunchie" scrubbers on the interior glass (kids + candy/drinks + fingers etc). Not to forget the "Oops, there goes the coffee/pop/whatever else she happens to be drinking at the time. Did I mention all the fast food bags & cups I find laying around? Oh the horror!

Ever notice how McDonalds chips never go moudly? They just go really hard - makes you wonder what they do in your stomach!! :wait

Man, you are singing my song! I bought my wife a Chrysler 300C (well, it was SUPPOSED to be OUR car), and she doesn't take care of it! I just extracted the carpets and I couldn't believe all the crap that came out! It's a new car! Sheesh! What makes me REALLY, REALLY angry, is she b*tches that I spend too much time detailing, too much money, and what does she do? SHE TAKES THE CAR TO THE CARWASH!!! :hot :beat :flamed :wall :angry Drives me Nuts!! :crazy Oh well, I still love her. I guess most women just don't get it. She is a good cook though
