This is just after the claying of the car. There was not much road grime to clay. A few bits of stuck on pollen and goo. You can clearly see that the claying removed a bit of the older oxidizing layer of wax.

After taping the car off we set out on identifying the trouble area’s. The hood has a 3m paint protection film on it. I taped the edge of that off to keep it safe when using the rotary. After the main paint work was addressed I used a PC and blue edge pad with JW prime to clean the paint protection film. Why do I tape so much? I hate re-cleaning areas because of splatter. Admittedly I am far better at controlling splatter and dust now then I was when I started taping. It also gives me an area I can touch without reservation. Many times my gloves get greasy or sticky while working, with the tape on I can continue to work without fear of staining or transferring issues to the car. These pictures are after the light compound and polish.

Mike Swale, stand up guy who was instrumental in helping me get this done this weekend. Because of his help I was able to put the extra hours in necessary to bring the exterior to the level we did. This is after the 2 nd layer of menzerna fmj and before the 1 st layer of CG50/50

You did right by that car. One of the greatest looking cars Ferrari ever made. How much polishing did you have to do? Unless I missed it when I was reading (I get distracted by pictures) I only saw JW Prime listed. It looks great! I bet the owner is happy as can be.

Looks great! Very wet.

How do you find the durability of FMJ topped with 50/50?

Max about 5 months. At 3 months i will do a wash, light sonus clay, redress the exterior trim and add a 2nd coat of wax. that will push it 6 months or more.

Interior shots. This is my second and 3rd cleaning of the seats using leather masters Strong cleaner. Notice the dirt in the seats before using strong cleaner.
