EX-P Topped with P21S

Hey Guys,

I had a question about using EX Sealant underneath my usual P21S top-coat.

I just got the AutoGeek newsletter and they have the EX Sealant for a pretty good price and I wanted to know if it will provide better results or if it will provide me any benefit.

I know its usually unacceptable to layer a carnuba over a sealant (klasse SG) but because the EX Sealant is a Caranuba sealant..it would seem as though I can layer the P21S over the EX Sealant...

Anyone have any experience with this...especially on a blue paint?

Unless I've been misreading autopia all this time, layering a carnauba over a sealant is a perfectly acceptable and common practice. The sealant gives you longer lasting protection and shine while the 'nuba adds warmth and depth along with another shorter lived layer of protection. I plan on putting a layer on top of WG as soon as my order of DP Maxwax arrives ( my first time with carnauba over a sealant).

Actually I think EX-P does not contain carnauba but is completely synthetic. EX is the PB sealant that contains carnauba.

So go for it and be sure to post your results.

Ya your right Jeff, most people top their sealant with a carnuaba. I think Richard got it the other way around.

You can definately top the EX and mostly any other sealant with a carnuaba, as long as the carnuaba doesn't have any cleaning properties that would strip the sealant underneath. When adding additional layers of a sealant or topping it with a carnuba its a good rule of thumb to wait 24 hours between coats to make sure the previous layer bonded well.

EX-P topped with P21s would be nice :xyxthumbs
