Ever seen this 3M product?

It's at least 35 yrs on the shelf. It is still pink and liquid and smells okay.

Guarantee Accumulator will chime in here with an answer!

This looks like something on his detailing shelf :p

Hey Accumulator, think this one is VOC compliant??!! :D

Looks like a precursor to Imperial Hand Glaze :nixweiss

Or maybe a wax with fillers?? :nixweiss

Interesting post. I'm curious

I believe that same basic product is still in existance. It saw it in two stores once.

Wow Bill, that was insightful ;)

Do you know what it is? A wax, polish, glaze?

I got it from a guy in Westfield, John Paterek who restores Porsche's with his brother. He is still very active and well respected in PCA and has still has the shop. He would not have had it if it were not *good* stuff.

A close look at the can says "fills swirls and produces a high luster"

Back in the early 80's I worked in a body shop, we bought the 3m fill n glaze by the gallons, it was always used on freshly painted cars.

Thanks for doing the homework for me Spilchy ;) I was going to check my 3m catalog for a photo as well.

And what did you think of it?

I thought it looked and worked great, even though my car hadnt been repainted, I would use it. Iit was pink in color and very thin, went on easy and came off easy. I have been thinking about going back to the body shop and getting a sample for myself, its been over 20 years, Im sure they will remember me.:xyxthumbs
