The owner is going to present the dealership with the bill and explanation of charges (pics etc) in hopes of them doing the right thing.. We shall see!

Please please please post up what happens!!! I'm dying to know here!

That is some exceptional work. Great photography as well. Glad to hear that JB BMW is getting *somewhat* easier to work with these days.

Wonderful work! That gloss is amazing! One question for you: looking at the test square after using M105 and SIP, why did you opt to use both 106ff and 85rd instead of going on to only use 85rd to jewel?

Great job! :) I was really surprised to see such a high amount of defects on a 2010 :o Isn't it a little risky to foam in the sun? Do you have a DI system? I had a bad experience with that the other day, i foamed a 2008 335i jet black in 90% shade and the 10% exposed had soap streaks burned in (which came out with polishing).

~Jack

Thanks Jack,

It was a very cool morning when I was foaming.

I sheet rinse with DI water.

Ouch...Sounds like you were foaming in the hot sun...

Have a black car on order (4 more weeks). Told the dealer NOT to touch it. This happening is my worst nightmare.

Make sure you talk to the Dealership GM tomorrow, I would print this thread and let them know you absolutely dont want anyone washing/touching the car...

It's amazing what these dealerships try and get away with. Beautiful job turning those swirls around; it really shows in the afters. Congrats!

Thanks Shaun.. I agree, and the sad thing is they get away with it quite often...

Thank you...

The test spot pictured was M105'd (x2) then SIP'd.. After that it still got 106ff and 85rd. The reason for 106ff is that it just brought a little more clarity to the paint prior to doing the burnishing. When I am burnishing, the paint is already corrected by most standards...

Wow Jason - This one came amazing. And the pictures are really classy too. Never ceases to amaze me how crappy some people can be with a buffer. The person that buffed this car should be fired. What dealer was it?

Thaks David... I appreciate the kind words!

I agree, and what is even more crazy is that someone looked at that and said "yep, looks good.. I'm done".. crazy

This customer (and dealer) are from the west side of the state and drove a few hours to get this vehicle detailed

wow..awesome work! "swirls are inherent in paint" LOL..what a load of BS. did you ever find out what happened with the dealer and your client?

Just to close the loop on this, the dealer did not reimburse my customer for this work.

My customer is now armed with knowledge on proper washing techniques and has washed his car several times and has not instilled swirls which according to him, only makes him more angry to have been delivered this car in such horrible condition.

This is so sick!!!! i love that car! yeah, one friend of mine said the same thing too, its how the car was painted and support to look like that. he said that his friend got a bmw from dealer and it had the same thing too-took me some time explaining that what dealers do.
