Cleaning white lettered tires

Yeah, I used to use a kitchen dish scratcher (not brillo), and that worked but not that well. This last time though, I used Mean Green All Purpose cleaner on the white letters, plus a swipe of a scratcher, and then hosed. They came out better than ever before, and this also worked wonders on a set of dirty whitewall tires on a 94' Buick Century I did. They went from brownish yellow to white again, quite quickly and easily.

simple green! i don't have a lot of uses for this product. but, i tell ya, i have never had the whites and blacks look so good. i use it full strength spraying it on all 4 tires then scrubbing (easily) the first tire and rinse. move on to the next tire, etc.

Laynlow is right on:up, any good wheel cleaner will do the job. I use P21S or Griot's (both work great) or Griot's Rubber Cleaner, does exellent job :xyxthumbs

Yep, I also like the Meguiar's Extra cleaner............ I just wish it would go farther! :( I'm hoping that the new Meguiars APC cleaner will take its place.............. we'll see? :nixweiss

I dont know if this is available in the the US or not, but spray nine works like a charm for making any white lettering or whitewalls white again.

Back in the days when i had white lettering, till the day the went in the garbage, i always had white white white lettering.

If they are black, a little scrub brush will be needed.

I haven't seen that in my neck of the woods.
