Black 1996 Impala SS

Is that LTCC sourced from the F-bodies? I wanted to put that on my LT1 but totalled it before I could get it on there. Opti (generally) = waste of time, but every vehicle has it's stumbling block.

The paint looks really good for eleven years old!

What is the reasoning for washing twice?

The LTCC is the controller. It is sourced from Bob Bailey of Bailey engineering. It is an aftermarket part designed to convert the Optispark on an LT1 to a coil-per-cylinder setup similar to an LS1 (similar not the same by any means) using LS1 coils. Google Bailey Engineering for his site.

Washing twice -- habit I guess. Seems like I always miss a spot so I started doing it twice.

Holy crap that paint looks great! I'm interested in knowing how many miles have been driven on this car. It doesn't look like an every day driver. How did you keep your rear fender just behind the back wheels so clean? They are notorious for getting chipped and beat up pretty bad but yours look flawless! I'm impressed. Mileage would be appreciated.

Samuel -- That's DCM - Dark Cherry Metallic in Impala speak :) Nice color. They are all nice but my personal favorite color of the three is DGGM (Dark Green Grey Metallic). Black looks great but is such a pain to maintain.

ssmokn- Thanks for explaining about the brakes and the coil-on-plug from Bailey (OK, gotta admit I skimmed over the engine compartment shot, thinking that if you've seen one LT1 you've seen 'em all...note to self about being so jaded :o ). Having cool, functional custom tweaks like that help make a car just *so* special, huh?

Heh heh, I know how you feel when you say that you could talk yourself into keeping it; I gotta watch I don't get too impressed and start thinking about another one myself! I can't quite bring myself to e-bay the T-84s because of that "some day..." idea in the back of my mind ;) What do you plan to replace it with?
