Any other place to get CG stuff?

I did but without a doubt I don't perceive it as you do. Maybe because it was late and I was tired and maybe because I don't live in your shoes. In either case I don't see a point of you asking him that question as you should know there is no way for him to know answer to that question. Aside from that, if you talked to him the way you just now talked to me your sentence above indicates then I don't blame him a bit. There is such thing as bad customer service. There is also such a thing as bad customers.
I just asked him out of curiosity, I have never had a declined CC transaction so I didn't know he wouldn't be able to tell me why it happened. While we were taking care of the problem, he had me confirm my CC info and billing address and all that, and everything was entered correctly so it's still a mystery, albeit one that i'm no longer trying to figure out.

I met Paul on Saturday. I had originally gone to their store on Friday, and got there a bit after 6pm, but they closed at 4pm. I thought I saw on their site somewhere they closed at 6. I'm not from the area, but drove over 400 miles. He asked what time I would be available on Saturday, and I told him really early or late in the day. I told him 8am and he said he would be there. So I went back Saturday morning, but Paul got a flat tire to work and was a bit late. I already had a list of stuff I want and he explained the products I had questions on and giving recommendations on what to use instead. He was super nice and I wished I could talk to him longer, but I was registered in a car show at Long Beach and needed to rush there. He went through my order with me and double charged me on a product by accident, but gave me a cash refund. He even comp me alot of stuff to try out, stickers, and business cards to pass out at the show. Definitely excellent customer service, and wouldn't hesitate to buy from again.

[quote name='rkf76']The problem I had was a billing issue so I was directed to the accounting department. I believe the guys name was David, this is the story.

I placed on order on Tuesday evening, I got a voicemail from someone the following afternoon stating that my credit card had been denied and instructing me to get online and update my credit card info. Knowing there was no reasonable explanation for my card to get denied, first thing I did was check my account online and I seen the charge for that order. So just for clarification, I called the credit card company and asked them to confirm if there were any declined transactions, she said no. So I call CG and get directed to David, I explain to him that I seen the charge on my account and that CS at my card company confirmed that there have been no declined transactions. He said for me to fax him a copy of my online statement showing the charge and he'd ship my order out. No problems up to this point. I called my CC company back and asked them to fax a copy of the charge for that order, when the CS pulled it up she clarified that the charge was not completed, she said it was "pending" and was being held up by the vendor. I told her I wanted the charge to go through so I could get my order but she said because the vendor didn't complete the transaction, the only way to proceed was for them to cancel said transaction and rerun it. In order to get the transaction cancelled, CG needed to fax over a statement asking them to cancel it or I'd have to wait for 7 business days before CG could

process another transaction.

You have a hell of a lot more patience than I would have had. I purchased there 50/50 from them with no problem whatsoever, (haven't used yet)!

However if I had experienced this with a company, I would have sent one email explaining my position in total detail. If I didn't get a reasonable and courteous response, well, there is as a lot of people say, it is just WAX! There is a hell of a lot of wax out there from great manufactures that will be glad to give you a helping hand if there is a problem or just to help, if you want Information.

I have yet to find a single person with a bad thing to say about Paul, he gets major kudos from everyone here. After what happened saturday I can now see why and am actually kind of looking forward to giving CG my business. He could have very easily turned a deaf ear to this situation, especially since I hadn't escalated it myself, but he took it personal and it genuinely bothered him for me to have had this experience and he offered to make it right.

So who escalated it? Apparently some concerend members here at Autopia. Paul said he had rcvd at least three phone calls on his machine at work from members here conveying that I had a horrible experience. He took it from there and even though I haven't purchased anything from them yet, he has already made it right. So a big thanks to those members who called CG, it's you who instigated the resolution to this problem:thx

Yeah, I thought I was being quite patient as well. This was the first time in years that I lost it on a CSR, I usually kill 'em with kindness. But man, after repeating the whole situation multiple times in a very calm and collected manner and him not listening to what I was saying, I couldn't take it anymore. I had decided to give my business to someone else, but Paul's phone call has won me back.

I thought that would have been obvious because he is, just like you when you are at the ATM, depending on the system. You really never waited somewhere (whether it be gas station, or whatever) for transaction to be processed just to come declined and next attempt goes fine?

It's not a mystery if one thinks a little bit how things might be working. For example, processing transaction is more than one step. Merchant swipes the card. System behind it dials through the modem and tries to put a hold on funds. Why it doesn't charge it immediately? Because actual charge does not have to happen immediately, nor it has to happen on same card. Remember when you go and rent a car? They get your card info and put some hold but they don't charge you till you are back. At that moment you can complete charge on that card or you can pay some other way. In any case, actual charging comes later or funds are released. Now imagine what happens if some modem somewhere drops connection. Exactly. Hold went through but actual purchase did not. How CG can know that? They can not. How lady in bank can know that? They can not.

You might not be interested in figuring that out but understanding it might save you lots of headaches down the road. For example, guess what happens if you go on trip and halfway from Texas to California local processing of transactions is down when you try to fill up with gas? Exactly. Never depend on technology, understand how it might come back to bite you, and have cash available for stuff like that.

So I am looking for another wax to add to my collection, what from CG would you guys recommend?

5050 is definitely THE wax. I just picked up a Pete's '53, but haven't used it yet. Can't wait to see how that turns out.
