4* UPP by PC

I've done a lot of searching and found a number of posts on applying UPP by hand. I've only found a few on applying UPP by PC. Is the general opinion not to use a PC for applying UPP because it's so easy to apply (like "butter" from one post) or is it just a personal preference thing?

Having bought a PC, I do want to experiment with applying UPP by PC with a Propel finishing pad. From what I've read so far, a speed of 3-4 works best. Anyone have any other suggestions or techniques to share?

Also, there was some talk about applying additional layers of UPP by hand only and not by PC because the PC could remove what's already been put down. How much of a concern is this?

Personally, I always apply UPP by PC usually on a speed of 4-5. It seems much eaiser to apply in a thin even coat.

I always apply additional layers with a PC and a finishing pad also.

The key is just to go over the area several times making sure that youhave hit all the spots and then I let it sit for about 10 mins and wipe away. I prefer to remove by hand so I get a real feel for what the product has done and IMO it helps me judge my work.

The first time I put the product on I apply it in a thin circle around the pad about an inch in from the edge.

After that when I need more I just apply it in small dots on the car directly. Dots the size of a dime or nickle.

I too prefer to apply UPP with the PC and a finishing pad. I have V2 and if you get it a little too thick it is murder to remove.

I have to wait about an hour before removing here in Memphis.......

I have never tried to apply UPP by PC, because I think the pad would absorb too much product. The foam hand applicators can only absorb a little bit of product.

I just put my order through with Patrick at Excel Detail and I ordered the 4* Car Care Trio package. I'm thinking of applying UPP using the PC. It will be much easier but if I don't approve, I guess I'll just do it by hand.

Do you apply UPP to the finishing pad in any particular manner? How much product do you end up using and would it be about the same if you applied it by hand?

A few dots on a finishig pad can do the hood, front quarter panel and half of the driver 's side door on my civic.

I have had the same bottle of UPP since about March of 03, it is still >3/4 of the way full (I have done multiple coats on several different vehicles).

I find that I use LESS when I apply it via PC. :nixweiss

That's great feedback! Thanks! It gives me an idea of how much product I should end up using on my Accord .. I'm thinking no more than an ounce.
