I jsut bought some UPP and i started to apply and when i rubb it on the paint i can hardly see where i put it. It almost looks like there is no wax there where i just waxed. It seems like it takes large amounts to see it on the paint. Is there wax on the paint and its hard to see? How do you guys apply it?

bobby5,

It is best to apply all protective products as thinly as possible. Depending on your color, it may not appear to be on your paint at all and/or you may have to view the paint from various angles to see where you have applied it. UPP is a quality sealant.

I had the same experience last weekend applying UPP over Klasse SG with my new Porter Cable. Could barely see it unless I looked from an angle. Once I buffed it out (very easy I might add), it looks fantastic. Very slick and shiny.

If you wax after UPP i would believe you could not add another coat of UPP. So confused so it sounds like you can add UPP over wax? :huh

1. It will probably not let the UPP bond properly if you apply it over a wax.
2. If you feel like you need to add something over the UPP, try another coat of UPP after waiting 24 hours. Looks great with no bonding problems. Every 30 days, add another coat. Your need to do something to your vehicle will be satisfied and it will look great.
3. UPP is difficult to see when applied as thin as it should be. You will have to really look to see where you have applied it. As stated earlier, an ounce will probably do an average size car.

One other thing. Prep is very important with a sealant. UPP is not a paint cleaner. It should go on a clean finish, not one that is oxidized or in bad shape.
I don't think you ever mentioned what you did to prep your paint before starting with the UPP.
