stupid shopvac question

97FLAIRSIDE

I like blue! :oP
I have a rigid wet/dry vac. I've never used it for suckin up water. I know its capable of doing it. But is there anything i need to do to it before i suck up water? To me it seems like its going to soak the filter and maybe blow the motor. Do I just turn it on and suck?

Read the instructions that came with the vac. Chances are you will need to remove any paper filters and possibly use a foam filter. My Shop-Vac is that way. Don't know about the Ridgid though. You might be able to just remove the paper filter and suck away.

Im going to have to dig those instructions up. Thats why i asked here, figured someoen would know. If i cant find them i'll email the company.

Remove the paper filter, and the diffuser- aka noise reduction piece (if it has one). Other than that, you should be good to go.

:yeah my Craftsman came with a foam filter you use in place of the paper one. You could probably make one out of those plyable air conditioner filters if you lost yours .

Found there website. Very informative FAQ section. Just gotta remove the paper filter and thats it.

Thanks guys for your input.
