Hi gang...Question: today I did up the ol' car...basic wash...detail trim..etc....I noticed that I still have small bumps here and there on the paint (fallout, road grime)....The question is...Can I just clay the parts of the car that seem to collect the grime...like the hood and bumpers on occasion?...if so how often....i dont want to clay too much, but the after result is soooooo nice...like today , I clayed the rear hood...then AIO/SG...it feels great...I did the hood last week and there is still fallout /grime collecting on it......I just want to see how often I can hit the trouble spots with Clay...Thanks all...Have a good week..lance:nixweiss

A quality poly-clay will not abrade your clear coat. Of course you have to be careful about renewing the contact point of the clay so as not to spread removed particles around causing swirling. If you have already used AIO and SG on your car you can touch up the clayed areas with SG and skip the AIO unless you feel the paint needs to be cleaned. just my .02

If I'm not claying the whole car then I just do one panel at a time. So if there is a spot on the trunk then I just clay the whole trunk. That way I don't run the risk of maybe seeing from a distance the difference on the panel where I clayed it. It is safe to do one spot at a time but I like to keep going once I start. :up

Today is a very sad day for Canada. Sgt Ryan Russell was killed in the line of duty last week and his funeral is today at 1pm. There is live coverage on CBC.
My heart and prayers go out to his wife Christine and their 2 year old son Nolan.
If you can, please obey a minute of silence for my fallen brother at 1pm EST.
Thanks,
Rich

When was this rule made up

The Rule of "Common Sense"

Richy,

I am sorry to hear about Sgt. Russell. I am assuming he was in law enforcement. We have had too many of our own (Tampa) police officers killed in the line of duty last year. My prayers are with his family.

Concerning any rules on this forum, I would like point out the rule of "Common Sense". That being, volatile subjects such as religion and politics should be left off this forum. These subjects get too close to some people to discuss without leading to arguments. If anyone is uncomfortable with using the rule of "Common Sense?, they of course can go to any other forum in the world and spout their beliefs. As always if anyone disagrees with me, call me at 800-628-7596 to discuss, I love a good discussion.

Very sad indeed Richy. I know the feeling well. My cousin, that I was very close to, was killed in the line of duty many years ago by two teenagers that stole a car. My heart goes out to his family.

Sorry to hear about this officer, I always cringe when I hear this as the officer always seems to have a young wife and children......hope this was not due to some dirtbag causing this? but some other cause which of course does not diminish the valor this policeman put out everyday for his community.

I had 2 uncles that were police officers who die in the line of duty, so I know the feeling of losing someone in that professional, all my condolence's.

A very unfortunate incident. It seems as though perp may have been mentally ill.

This is the first officer killed in the line of duty in Toronto in 9 years.
