Platinum or FMJ?

For the past two years, I've been pretty religiously using a combo of Klasse AIO followed by multiple coats of Platinum on our cars, since they sit outdoors 24/7 and I need both the best protection AND a great look.

Really like the ease of use of both products, but am starting to think it's time to try something new, which is where the FMJ comes in. Looks VERY promising, and perfect for my use, where I need the hardest, longest lasting, and also best-looking shine I can get, particularly on white vehicles (since that's all we have...:D ).

The AIO/Platinum seems to be quite durable, but from what I've read, the FMJ might beat it on both that and the shine regards.

Any comments? Should I stick with the AIO and Platinum or move on to FMJ for something new?

Im a product addict so if I were you, I would be trying anything and everything I can afford..

Your thread reminds me that I havent tried FMJ yet either :)..I better go order some !

If you mean Platinum from Premium Auto Care, the name was changed to 4 Star a while back.

Yeah, that's what I meant--I obviously haven't been on here in a LONG time...:)

I think I'll probably just order the whole arsenal of Menzerna, just to add it to the collection....which has now outgrown the closet I once kept everything in. Maybe it's time to give my supplies their own room...I have spent quite a bit...:D

I use both. I've always loved UPP. My only 'minor' gripe might be it's slightly oily - but I will always use it.

FMJ to applies more like WG with finish more like SG - it dries/cures a bit harder than UPP. FMJ dries quicker than UPP and is the easiest to remove in my experience although UPP is very also. You're basically splitting hairs deciding which to use. I like the quick dry time.

I have a 16oz bottle of FMJ and ordered a 32oz - the 16oz is darker color red than the 32oz. I called Classic whose response was one probably had more 'dye' than the other. This somewhat quality control somewhat bothered at this price - what other ingredient my be different. I'm sure it's a none issue.

Step up to the FMJ! You will not regret spending twice the money once you look at your paint. The 32oz from CMA is actually a really good deal although it will last about 100 coats, so get layering.
