Overheating tips

As some would already know, the Metropolitan Vac'N'Blo has a tendency to overheat very quickly. Can anyone give me suggestions to reduce the vacuum's ability to overheat?

A fan :). In all seriousness, if its in a mounted location, you might want to consider some sort of cooling. Either forced air (fan), or just run an uninsulated cold water pipe right up to the thing.

If you lug it around, just try to keep good airflow on it (don't use in tight spaces, etc).

Have you contacted the manufacturer about this yet? Just curious.

I agree with JDookie, this sounds like a major product design/quality flaw. Maybe there is a recall? If they seriously overheat then maybe the product is a fire or injury hazard and I bet the manufacturer will get onto that pretty quickly.

I have not contacted the manufacturer about this simply because I don't really know if the vacuum is overheating. What I do know is that after about seven minutes of use, the canister starts to get very hot. Is this overheating?

Most elect. motors have a thermal limit switch that shuts the motor off if it overheats.

Sounds like its hot but not overheated.
