that is my plan. sound good or do i need something else?

i plan on using the 83 on neglected paint but on my new jet black m3 i will probably just start with the #9 or the #80 with a polish pad. also what are the best quality washmits and microfiber towels. i need the best stuff as i will have a 05 jet black m3 which has very soft paint so i have to be very careful. let me know what you think of my plan. also any tips for the pc as i havent used one yet? i am starting on my parents cars to get the hang of it. thanks.

Starting on your parents cars first huh...LOL...good idea. I have never used any of those products before so I couldnt help you there but as far as a good washmitt and microfiber towels go I would definitly use a wool wash mit and for microfiber I use the sonus ones on this site but there are plenty others that work just as well.

It looks like a pretty good list except for one major issue - Z3 is for single stage paint and Z5 is for clear coat. You should only need one.

If single-stage paint, then Z3.

If clearcoat, don't use Z3. But you have some decisions. If the paint is chipped and the color is dark use Z5 and NOT Z2. If dark and in good condition, use Z5 and then top with Z2. IIf the care is white or very light, then you can use Z2 alone. You could start with Z5, but finish with Z2.

Also, if you are using Z7 wash after your polishing steps, you can probably skip the 50/50 wipedown and go straight to Z7.

Best of luck,

Dan.

Start off with the least aggressive product/pad and then step up if needed.

From the polishes you mention #83 and #80 are both pretty good. Iâ€â„¢d use the polish pad with #80. For DACP (#83) I wouldnâ€â„¢t step up to the yellow pad until you tried it first on a polish and/or orange pad.

I agree on the sheepskin wash mitt and some good MFâ€â„¢s.
