Per several recomendations I picked up some #80. It definately leaves the finish "squeaky clean" I did just the hood to try it out w/ the PC. Clayed then 2 passes w/ #80 w/ a yellow megs pad. 1 pass w/ Autoglym RW w/ a finishing pad. Then Mark V Dazzle. (Carnuba liquid basically).

The finish is pretty dang deep. I was suprised on how gentle the

#80 was though. I expected it to be more aggressive. I do have the propel pads comiin so I'll try to step into a little more aggressive pad to get out the few swirls the polishing pad didn't get.

Another note. It didn't leave any marring. Basically it looks like you could just top it and walk away.

Good stuff guys! I'm learnin!

:woot:

I started out with #80 too and had good results first time out. The more you use it, the better you will be as you learn how the products reacts - working time and when to buff off.

I used it on my Dad's car last weekend, a car thats never really been polished or waxed in 9 years. After a clay session, I used #80 on an orange pad, which actually left no marring as I could see, then went straight to the CMW as the LSP, looked like new again. I love seeing people's reactions to a freshly cleaned up car :xyxthumbs

Yeah, as long as your pad is gentle enough that it won't mar on its own, and your paint isn't *unusually* soft (only had that happen once), the #80 leaves a nice, ready-to-wax finish.

Its my "go to" polish on cars that arent too bad off.

Same here. You can bump its power up by using a cutting pad, starting off with the speed on 5 to spread it out then do some real slow passes at 6 until it clears out. Then follow with a polishing pad the same way and you can get really excellent results and be ready for your LSP.

Scott,

Thanks for chiming in. You are very well respected around here. I can't say enough about some of the pictures you have posted of your details.

I just ordered some propel pads. Would you go orange or all the way to yellow. My megs yellow is pretty weak in the cutting dept. By the way. I topped my work w/ P21s today. OMG!!! the depth!!! carnuba is my friend!!!!!!
