Meg's NXT tire shine

97FLAIRSIDE

I like blue! :oP
Who else uses this? How do you like it? I've been using it for a few weeks and its seems good for the first like hour then it seems to fling off and just leave a clean look on the tires, never a shine.

97,

If you are talking about the NXT Insane shine, I have tested it and don't like it.... heree's why:

It does "fling" as you say.

It leaves what I call... a "dirty" coating on the tires. If you wash your tires within a week or two, the tool that you use will be "black", and the stuff won't come out of the tool. :angry

Most importantly, the product contains "HEXANE" (and Acetone). HEXANE is a very dangerous chemical. In my honest opinion, a chemical that shouldn't be used in any car care products. (The NXT Trim Detailer has it too).

I also don't like the high shine, but that's just a personal preference and has nothing to do with the performance of makeup of the product.

:yeah I'm pretty much in the same boat , its to expensive and messy to apply . The shine is ok , thats the only plus about the product.

man im really disapointed with meguiars for even thinking of releasing a product like this. i mean, ud think they'd actually know what sling-off is and although its aimed towards the general public and not the professional, i still think they should have thought about dust attraction, chemical safety, sling, and most importantly durabilty. its a great product i guess if u're doing a car show and u have some low profile tires (in my opinion thats the only time a high gloss dressing should be used) and u'll be dressing them there, then theres no problem but its not something i would recommend to anyone, not even for wheelwells.

Boy im a glad im not hte only one who does not like this tire shine. I had a can of Megs hot shine i believe with the adjustable nozzle. That stuff was great. But I broke the nozzle and bought this.

I can't even get my tires clean cuz this stuff just cakes on and builds up. I need a good pressure washer and alot of wheel cleaner just to get it off.

What about those Armor All tire shine? Does cake on too? I only use PB Bold and Black(water base). :bigups

Awful. The only tire dressing I've used that actually slung on a motionless vehicle (from the wind). I'm amazed that Meguiar's was able to develop a dressing even worse than the aerosolized goo they call "Hot Shine".

I've used their purple gel stuff and actually liked it. Just had to clean it off really really really well. Impossible to get tires clean from it though.

Megs "Hot Shine" is what I had used before and liiked it. Before that it was some liquid stuff i had in a cut open milk carton and used a brush to apply. Was really thick and didnt sling, but shine was never really there.

I might have to try pb's tire dressign.

I use meg's hot shine. It slings if you dont take the bulk of it off, it lasts a while, but does leave my tire brush black :(. I need some PB's. My dad uses Armor All Foaming Tire Dressing and it works magic, his tires look 10x better than mine, and no slinging, i'm not sure about durability on this stuff, but i might try it next time.

I just read this thread today after buying some this morning and applying, if I only waited till I read this thread.

I had it on for a day, no more. Went to rewash tonight due to birds and pollen. You guys were right, it doesnt come off at all. My towel was still black after E1 AZ and some car wash soap.

Im bringing it back tomorrow, this will be the first detailing product I ever returned. Odd since I have to have 3 grand in detailing supplies in my garage.
