well i ordered my 05 jet black m3 the other day. i am an intermediate car detailer as i have worked and detailed many cars of lately (thanks to autopia). but this is going to be my first bmw ive detailed and only the second black car. i have used pretty much every product from the zaino and megs line but i dont know what to use on my m3 since i have so much. so what do you guys think looks better on black? zaino z2/z5/z5 or a clean car topped with a sealant and topped with pinnacle souveran? (havent tryed pinnacle yet but i heard it looks awesome wet and deep on black and is a perfect match on bmw paint) or should i zaino and top with pinnacle (ive heard people say that but have never tryed. i am looking for the deep wet jaw dropping look :) any other suggestions would be great to. also i got the sonus clay bar and i didnt even check to see how mild it is. how mild is this clay as i want to be using very mild clay on it since its a brand new car. thanks.

I have the Klasse twins under Souveran on my black Audi and its breathtaking. I assume Zaino underneath will look similar. Souveran sure seems like Holy Grail of paste wax for black :up

ok i dont know much about klasse but im guessing one has to be a minor abrasive polish right? dont want to be using anything toabrasive on a new car and the other would be what? sealant? glaze? caranuba?....this can be applied by hand correct? i will go do a search about it and maybe pick some up...anyone else have opinions?

so are the "twins" referred to as the klasse all in one polish and the klasse high gloss sealant? so if the car is brand new with no need to get any swirls or scratches out...i just need to wash, clay and then go right to applying the klasse all in one and after that, the klasse sealant and then apply a coat of pinnacle? is that how you guys do it? as it is a sealant should i be waiting overnight inbetween any of those coats or just go right to the next product? thanks for showing me to a new product as i should be very happy with the results.

the klasse twins are AIO (a chemical cleaner) which preps for the SG (pure sealant). There are no mechanical abrasives in AIO and can be used on your new M3 without worry :D

AIO --> SG --> carnauba topper

Some like to wait 24 hours or up to a full week before topping or applying another layer of SG. I cannot say if it is required because I do not have the patience to wait, LOL.

AIO can be applied to brand spanking new car with no issues.

Here's how I would go about doing it: AIO X2 ( your choice by hand or machine : hand via damp mf pad, machine: PC or cyclo with finishing pad -black LC for example)

SG via damp mf pad (you can do the Wipe On Wipe OFF-WOWO-method,or, as I would do for this, let sit at least overnight or up to 24 hrs, then buff off with a mf ,or, as I now like to do , with a suede type mf bonnet via Cyclo/PC

I'd recommend another coat of SG but you must follow the above curing procedure and I wouldn't use the vehicle during this time. I'd say the maximum number of layers of SG still worthwhile is 5, that might be stretching things already though

Then I applied Souveran, this too was a tedious, drawn out process :o via the spit shine method

IMO and AFAIK this way over the top LSP routine brings me the optimum results

I have an 03 Jet Black M3. I have been very happy with Klasse AIO followed by Klasse Sealant Glaze x whatever, topped with P21S and Pinnacle Souveran. Recently I tried just Klasse AIO followed by Pinnacle Souveran and it was fantastic - don't know how it can get much better than this. I am not too concerned with long term durability because I love the process. If you do a search on Pinnacle Souveran I'm sure you'll be able to see photos of my Jet Black M3.

Make sure the dealer doesn't prep the paint. I just had mine in for the service action on the connecting rod bearings, and though I asked them not to, they washed my car. I had to do a full detail to get it back to "normal."

yea i had them write on the invoice not to detail and if they do i will make them pay me for the hours of work id have to do to get fix their crappy job :) ok i will order klasse aio and sg and some pinnacle thanks.

Just remember, when applying the SG, apply it THIN. I put it in a small spray bottle and squirt a tiny amount on the pad. When you apply it, you might have a hard time seeing it on ther paint, counter intuitive but this means you're not applying too much and doing so properly.

thx for the info, but its a little "hazy" :D so according to his method, after all quarters are done say , am i to then "re do" the first quarter by wiping on with the same damp MF towel with the carnuba over the "wet" sprayed mist ? in other words, carnuba, mist on top, then more carnuba wiped on (2nd coat) and then finally removing it with a dry MF ?

Bill,

Do you have any problems removing SG after waiting all night? I have MF bonnet for my PC, would that work?

Nope, none at all. In fact, I've been using suede mf Cyclo bonnets with much success but by hand will do just as well. I'd give the mf PC bonnet a shot.

Well...Here are a few thoughts.

I just picked up an 04 330i M Sport and here it is with Klasse AIO, SG and and P21S.

And...more food for thought...I went to see my parents new 2004 330 i M Sport Cabriolet Individual Edition in Midnight Blue this week (they receive it on Saturday) and I will be using the Klasse AIO, SG, and Megs #16 as a topper on it. I have included a couple pics of their car that I took at the dealership. It is a few shades darker than my Mystic Blue, but not quite as dark as the Black Carbon.

Just some food for thought as you get ready for the new ride! Best of luck...I love mine, and I am anxious to prep my parents new machine.

Pinnacle Souveran on BMW 3 paint. Pics don't come close to the resolution I have on the slide.

I would bet that AIO + Souveran would be even better. This pic is just Souveran X 2 over Pinnacle's paint cleansing lotion.
