DIY carwash soaps

When using the pressure washer at the *do it yourself carwashes* is it safe to use their soap or is it a wax stripper? The old guy who takes care of my local one says it is a product called "Hyperclean". I like to wet it down and then do a *hand wash with my mit and soap* but can't decide if I should use the Wash ie with soap or Rinse, no soap.

I had to wash mine the other day and always wash it at home so was faced with the same decision. I just opted to use water only, figured better safe then sorry.

Hopefully someone can chime, also how strong is the "touchless" car wash soaps? I'm sure they are different in different washes, but always figured they would be harsh since they are not using brushes and need to remove grime?

Haha no I meant water only as in water was the only thing I used at thier facility. Haha I used the water for presoak, had my own bucket, mit, shampoo, etc etc :)...

I will hit one of those places and use water only if I run through a mud puddle or something that I dont want on the finish. If I drive through an area where they are painting the road, I will go there immediately to spray as much off as I can. I know it isnt an Autopian thing to do, but when I run through something and I run by one of those places, I dont dry the car either. I dont carry my wash buckets and mits around with me, and I really like to take my time washing my ride. I have used a bucket in them before, but I use them just to blast road grime off my car before it hardens or anything.

I would bet most coin-op carwash soap is pretty harsh since there typical customer base expects cleaning power over wax friendliness. Frequent use and you can probably kiss your wax goodbye.
