Cure time before rain?

I'm trying to get both my car and truck detailed with AIO, topped with EX and then Souveran on my red truck a Collinite on my wife's Caddie. I have alrady completed the prep, clayed, smr and have one coat of AIO on her car and still have a coat of Souveran on my truck from a few weeks back.

I have most mornings free since I work evenings but we are getting rain and or thunderstorms almost every afternoon or night. If I apply either of the above products in the morning and then we are out later in the day when it rains will it have any adverse effects on the product I used that morning. I've been trying to wait for the weather to break but the rains keep coming day after day.

At this point I'm so frustrated by all the wet weather I'm about ready to search goggle for plans to build an ark.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated

Air catalyzes the resin of polymers, which crosslinks and bonds to the paint. Even though these products contain water, once the cure has started, they should not be exposed to water as it interferes with the catalyzing air. So in f150smith's scenario, the rain stops the crosslinking, and the product won't cure completely.

Curing should only be a concern with polymers - like his AIO. EX (wax/polymer blend), Souveran, and Collinite do not cure or bond... so no need to worry about that.

Thanks guys

BW, so what would happen to the AIO or EX if it gets rained on before 24 hours?? Will it fail early, wash off or get hazed and nasty looking? It appears that i really need a good 24 hours of clear weather before using a polymer!

Nope, that won't happen. The rain just prevents the polymers from bonding to it's fullest potential. There won't be any dangerous side effects... maybe just a slight drop in durability.
