collinite 476S...at the risk of sounding...

...like a broken record...

just took my winter ride to a self wash bay to spray off the ridiculous amounts of salt before doing an ONR in the garage. felt good to get under the car with the sprayer and clean off that nasty salt layer.

as i was spraying i was reminded how great of a product the 476S really is...the beading was awesome and really helped the gunk to slide off easily. i'll treat it to a 2nd layer after the ONR to finish off the winter protection.

Good to hear. My 845 is holding up nicely after a month. I haven't washed it in a couple weeks, so there is a good size caked layer of dirt/dust, but the morning dew still beads up nice on top of it.

Yep'r, I second that about 476. This winter I treated my ride to 2x 476 and am very impressed with it also...

Yep, I put the last coat on the Blazer in September and it's still going strong. Well, we *have* had a mild winter, but still...

IMO the day-to-day benefits of 476S, like the beading and self-cleaning effect, really are special. For most people's daily drivers it's simply a great LSP.

Paradigm- How does it hold up to the ONR? Are you able to wash it that way without any marring?

the ONR does not appear to affect the 476S at all...but i haven't let it go long enough to know long term durability of ONR washes vs. 476S. the first layer maybe had 4 ONRs on it before the pressure rinsing and final ONR. beading was the same as the first wash that i could tell.

i have yet to see any marring from ONR as well...on this car or even the black vehicles i have done for other people. great stuff!

Which QD you guys use to maintain 476s?

I've been using up my old EF Clear Pearl (a carnauba-rich QD) on it, along with QuikShine, Griot's SpeedShine, and FK 425- all work fine on the Collinite (on 845 too). These aren't in the LSP-league of products like AW, but they add a little something and they sure aren't degrading the 476S any. I use the QD after washing (and after evaluating the condition of the 476S so I'm not fooled into thinking it doesn't need redone when it really *might*).

I'll also havce to testify to the great beading and durability of 476! Here's a pic after the third wash on this coat, 6 weeks after application. Daily driver, outside 24/7.

Whoa! That beading really looks like it has been just waxed. I can't get that kind of beading with 6 weeks after Collinite 476S application... Are you maintaining it with some sort of spray wax?

even after a wash?

a dirty car doesn't bead well

Yeah, even after a wash, my beading doesn't come out to be that perfect. It beads great, but the spherical nature begins to diminish fairly soon.

Just to clarify, the picture was indeed taken after the wash, not before! Beading definitely isnt effective on dirty paint!

And nope, I haven't used any products on the paint since the 476, just the normal wash and dry. I am, however, particularly careful during the wash and dry. This could possibly be extending the life of the wax.

How do you mean being careful?
