Coated or Uncoated Leather?

How do I determine if leather is coated or uncoated? I need to know wheter or not the leather used in the interiors of porsches and ferraris are coated or not. If you do not know, do you know of a leather cleaner/protectant that is safe to use on all types of leather interiors?

Also, any recommendations for a good polish for chrome wheels?

thanks

Perform the water test.

Take an eyedropper and place a drop of water on the surface of the seat. If the water beads and does not darken the leather then it is coated. Likewise if the leather darkens and appears to soak into the leather then it is aniline leather.

It is rare to find the sides of seats leather, most are face leather with sides and backs being vinyl or leatherette.

Leathermaster is your finer choice for a cleaner and a conditioner for both protected and aniline leather. www.topoftheline.com

Rolite metal polishes and Mothers are good for chrome.
