1z HGP and Pasta Intensiv Question

They are quite similiar to the Menzerna products, but not entirely. These are a little bit easier to use. Try not working them via rotary too fast or it will gum up. Take it slow and and take your time and it should work just fine.

the trick to 1Z is slower RPM's....around 1000 is perfect...work till it clears out and wipe off...faster will cause gumming as the polish flashes to fast....and cakes...just like Menz....I use menz a bit slower now also and have better results this way....

I am only concerned with the sensitivity these offering have to temperature and humidity

The actual "learning curve" of each I will tackle if they are in fact a good alternative to Menzerna once they act up due to ambient temp/humidity

So, are these prone to the same problems as let's say SIP once the heat/humidity is on the rise??

Thank you

I haven't used them in extreme heat/humidity conditions, but I did use both under these conditions: outside temp in the high 70s, vehicle (black metallic paint) pulled into direct sun for extensive inspection, which heated it up, followed by sunlight coming in through window during subsequent touch-up correction which also heated the panels up more than I liked (but let me see what I was correcting). The only problem seemed to be earlier flashing. This could probably be mitigated with the addition of a high-lube polish or some kind of pad treatment/QD but I didn't bother trying it as I didn't have a big enough problem to feel I had to do something about it.

Strictly a guess: I wouldn't *expect* humidity to be a big issue but it might make for a slightly oily residue effect when wiping off; nothing some kind of cleaning/QD product wouldn't solve IMO, but again I'm just speculating.

Oh, and as best I can tell a *huge* part of why these need to be worked at low speeds is the nature of the abrasives- they simply correct, break down, and otherwise behave better when worked at low speeds.

Once they break down you can crank things up to get a nicer finish (with the now-broken-down abrasives), but at the risk of tougher wipe-off (use a QD). *I* don't crank it up much myself.

I used 1Z Intensive Paste in fairly high humidity (this is NC in June) and mid 80's temp - wise, in an open garage with a fan. I used my rotary and foamed wool pad, kept the rpm's about 900-1000 and it did fine. Note: First time using this product, but it sure won't be the last!
