Brand new with about 10,000 km's on it. Over all not bad condition, light marring and buffer trails. Have to say this was the hardest paint I have ever polished :hairpull . Maybe it's the new hard clearcoat from Germany.
Anyway the process was:
wash
clay
OHC/SSR3 (60/40) via PC...
Tonight I thought I would fill some chips on my Jetta then wet sand and polish. I've done a little wet sanding for customers with great success, but on my jetta for the first time it was a nightmare. First of all my paint is quite soft, if I gently rub it with my finger tips it micro marrs...
This was about ten hours of work, very poor condition. The process was wash, clay, cutting pad OHC via PC X 2, wet sand bad areas, polishing pad OP X 2, finishing pad RMG, WG DGPS, clean glass and dress wheels.

I just bought the Hatachi SP18V from BossTools.com for $223.61 including shipping. I then added the 7.5" Rotary pad kit (4 pads of your choice with backing plate) from eShine.ca to complete the package. To say that I'm excited to get started, would be huge understatement.
I have a customer with the 3M clear clear bra from Sticker City on his Vette. Can prducts with Petroleum Distillates be used with out harming the clear bra? They say wax is safe to use but dosen't wax contain Petroleum products?

Only 500 KM's but has the dealer installed swirls. Washed, clay, cut hood & trunk with OHC, then orange pad and OC, sealed with EX, rims sealed with PB wheel sealent.
I got a call from a very happy customer today, he told me that with my help his 1934 Ford coupe won "best hot rod" in a local show & shine. I told him I was very happy for him. Those details make you feel good :D .
Well I think I going to make the jump to a Rotary. It's going to be a Makita or Hitachi. I'm waiting to here from Utterguy's if they will ship to Canada and if I have to pay duty on it. If it's made in North America there's no duty I here?? They have the Hitachi for $119 so around $134 CAD...
I just detailed my 03 black VW Jetta a couple days ago to a perfect finish. today I wash it "very carefully with multi buckets and wool mitt" and find lots of micro-marring. This hapens all the time and it's driving me nuts. I've detailed other years of black VW Jettas and their clears are...
I noticed on the PB site they have a polish called Poorboy's polish w/ carnauba (blue). Has anyone tried this? I'm also interested in Poorboy's professtional polish, what is it like, what is it similar to?
Here's a 03 explorer that was badly swirled and marked up. The inside had various stains throughout. I don't have pics of the inside, I forgot :nixweiss . For the interior I sprayed it with AG carpet shampoo and brushed that in. Then sucked that up with my shop vac, sprayed some water down...
I had a blast detailing this one!! The owner had it painted a couple of months ago (black with blue metallic) unfortunately the painter detailed it. He can paint but he sure can't detail, there were buffer trails everywhere and also small circular rotary marks that were too deep to take out...
Hey everyone first post in a while. I detailed a black 02 Vette for a customer last week in high ninety temp. Compounded twice and polished twice then put P21S wax on by hand with the sponge it comes with. Did small sections at a time and buffed off right away because of the heat. Everything...
I decided to test Optimum Hyper Compound against SSR 3 via the PC. I regularly use and like SSR 3 but thought it was time for a head to head test. The first two pics are before any polishing. The test vehicle is my white 97 chey pickup. Notice the heavy swirling and deep scratching. I'm...
I'm wondering if it's worth my while to get wool pads for use with the PC. Lately I've detailed some badly marked vehicles that have taken many hours to clean up a cutting pad and SSR 3. Would a wool pad be an advantage here or not?
Thanks
Steve
I need some help here. I'm running out of SSR 3 and I'm wondering if OHC would be a better choice with a PC? I only use SSR 3 for the worst jobs or hard clearcoats (Vette clear). If you have experience with these polishes I would appreciate your input.
I was looking at the tool section of the new Canadian tire flyer today and saw the Porter Cable sander polisher for $ 159.99 CAD. If mine ever blows up I can now drive a couple of blocks and replace it for $ 50.00 cheaper than what I bought it for. It's hard to believe crappy tire selling a...
